Denial of Video Documentation is not an Accident

Joseph Burkes MD 2007

The Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) maintains a members list for email postings. One member asked the question why after many years of major encounters with Extra-terrestrial intelligence there is not available more impressive photographic or video evidence.

The question as to why the contact groups like CSETI and other contactee organizations have not been gifted with high quality video evidence is one that I have considered for almost fifteen years. The following answers are clearly highly speculative. Nevertheless I hope others in the contact movement will find them compelling.

First of all we should acknowledge that the non-intelligence behind the UFO phenomenon is incredibly well prepared for its staged interactions with human kind. If it were extra-terrestrial in nature, as much evidence points in that direction, then they likely did not just arrive here in the last fifty years. This is a process that has been unfolding for centuries, if not for millennia. In Dr. Greer’s original monograph published back in 1992 he discusses how consciousness assisted technologies and technology assisted consciousness play important roles in ETI’s interactions with humans As Dr. Greer has pointed out, “The ETs can likely access our consciousness as readily as you or I turn on a light switch.” Thus these non-human cultures (it seems likely that more than one ET civilization is involved) know us far better than we know them.

Let us assume that the contactee premise is correct. That advanced Extra-terrestials civilizations are here assisting current Earth society during a tumultuous time of transformation leading to planetary unity and universal peace. Try to imagine what might be the reaction of a peaceful, spiritually mature and completely telepathic ET culture to current Earth civilization. The picture before them I suspect would not be a pretty one. They would see widespread poverty, disease and hunger in the Third World standing next to indulgent and wasteful materialist consumerism in the First World;genocidal wars killing millions of innocents; environmental pollution wiping out tens of thousands of species of plants and animals while gravely threatening human health and welfare.

Advanced cultures would very likely see us as a race of beings who have raised cruelty and greed to unprecedented heights in this section of the galaxy Meanwhile our leaders maintain a truth embargo about the presence of the Visitors who watch and wait for someone to notice them in our skies and take positive action by going out and meeting with them in peace.

The reaction of the Control Groups, who have been quite successful in keeping a lid on this issue, has clearly not been a positive one. Mass media under corporate control have promoted the most outrageous distortions concerning the ET presence. The scientific community has shamefully buried its head in the sand ignoring the evidence that we are not alone in the universe. Government leaders have refused opportunities to hold hearings; energy monopolies have suppressed planet saving new technology and honest witnessed have been viciously ridiculed.

Most tragic of all are has been the secret war carried out against ETI by Black Operation units that operate outside of the official chain of command and who apparently have been successful in shooting down ET craft and killing their crews.

Now enter the contact movement. Inspired by the visionary leadership of contactee networks like CSETI and Mission Rama, ordinary citizens have taken active steps to build friendly relations with advanced cultures. What might be the reaction of those selfish and violent forces (also known as the Cabal) to those humans and especially their leaders like Dr, Steven Greer who have attempted to approach the Visitors on friendly terms? His oral history “Hidden Truth – Forbidden Knowledge” is in my opinion a profile in courage. From my view as a former confidant of Dr. Greer I believe that his book describes only on a small part of the threats directed against the contact movement’s most vital resource, its cherished leadership.

With this analysis as a background let us return to the question at hand. Why have we been denied those quality digital images? Well looking back to the beginning of CSETI we can see a brief time when we were not denied such evidence. Three separate video cameras documented Dr. Greer’s incredible Gulf Breeze encounter of March 1992. While flying against strong winds as they moved towards the shore the UFOs can be seen interacting with Dr. Greer’s group. A few weeks later those videos, in combination with Dr. Greer’s convincing presentation at UFO Expo West compelled me to join the contact movement. My life was never the same again!

As a activist I know from my own reaction to those 1992 videos how powerful such documentation can be in terms of recruiting. I also know that such a gift is also a two edged sword. It also attracted the interest of the Control Groups that immediately set out to neutralize Dr. Greer’s bold initiative.

On a subsequent major encounter in Southern England during the summer of 92, a one hundred foot craft hovered a short distance from Dr. Greer and three other researchers. This time a ragging storm that unexpectedly appeared prevented quality video from being obtained. While working with Dr. Greer in Mexico the following winter I witnessed a large triangular shaped craft silently approach our team that was stationed at the base of a volcano. The UFO slowed to a virtual hover as it responded to Dr. Greer’s light signals by flashing its powerful lights. In the most dramatic fashion, here again we were denied quality photographic documentation. Mysteriously every piece of equipment we had, Hi 8 Video, SLR 35 mm still camera and even a cheep spring operated “brownie” type device suddenly failed to operate. Could this record of apparent defeat in obtaining video be accidental? In my opinion it is neither coincidental nor the result of technical incompetence.

We should never forget the fact that our ET collaborators most probably have the big picture on their screen at all times. I submit to you that our cameras were jammed by the deliberate action of non-human intelligence. From the historical point of view we can safely say that by 1993 Dr. Greer’s radical CE-5 Initiative was about to be surpassed by a project in some ways far more daring and risky. I speak of Project Starlight that subsequently became the Disclosure Project. His citizen’s diplomatic mission had an obvious predecessor in the trailblazing work of Mission Rama. A contact movement founded in Peru in 1974 that has been using consciousness techniques to attract UFOs to secure research sites. Like Steven Greer, their leaders have on board experiences that convince them of the peaceful nature of ET mission to Earth.

It is my assessment that CSETI was denied quality video because it would have likely led to a rapid growth of the CE-5 Initiative and would have distracted its leadership from the more important work of Starlight that was to about to commence. Of course I have no proof for such a proposition. Nevertheless consider the following.

What would be the likely reaction of the Control Groups if we had gotten powerful video documentation? Imagine dozens of well-trained, disciplined CE-5 working groups under Dr. Greer’s leadership, not the five or six that we had during years 92-95. Envision the media frenzy that would ensue as the result of the broadcasting of difficult to refute video documentation obtained by credible witnesses. Do you think that the Cabal would sit idly by and let such events transpire unhampered? I suggest to you that their reaction would be fast fierce, and likely vicious. It is my judgment that Dr. Greer was groomed for a role that was too important for him to be neutralized under a full court press directed at him by the Control Groups.

Let me attempt to illustrate this point by way of an analogy. I am privileged to be have experienced the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. It was a struggle that faced incredible challenges. In the South a state of virtual fascism was in effect. Black people were discriminated against, beaten and lynched in order to maintain Jim Crow segregation. Poor white people, denied jobs, adequate housing, education and health care should have considered black people their natural political and economic allies. Instead poor white folk were brainwashed by racist propaganda into despising their black neighbors.

Despite such race hatred, wealthy white landlords and businessmen employed black house servants. Although not able to attend the same schools as whites, black nannies, maids and chauffeurs worked in close quarters with their wealthy employers’ families. This apparent contradiction prompted astute African-American observers to point out that, “In the South the white man doesn’t care how close you get, as long as you don’t get too big.”

The situation was different in the industrialized North. There poor blacks were herded into urban ghettos as they fled terrible unemployment in the more rural South. In the North no laws prohibited integration, but instead economics and segregated neighborhoods kept blacks and whites apart. Court ordered attempts at school integration through forced busing led to white flight from public schools. In addition blacks were prevented from moving into white neighborhoods by discriminatory housing practices. At the same time middle class African-Americans had many business and professional opportunities in the North that allowed them to accumulate considerable wealth. Thus black commentators observed, “In the North the whites don’t care how big you get, as long as you don’t get too close.”

I would like to suggest by way of analogy that similar maxims apply to the contact movement. Mission Rama has quietly operated a worldwide contactee network for over thirty years. Several of their leaders like Dr. Greer have had multiple on-board experiences with face-to-face encounters with Extraterrestrials. On the whole in contrast to CSETI, RAMA have avoided publicity concerning their very successful encounters. In California I have attended a number of their fieldwork sessions and all of them were conducted exclusively in Spanish. To my knowledge no books about their movement have been translated into English. I suspect that Rama may have avoided disruption of their work by the Control Groups because the Cabal might not care how close contactees get to ETI, as long as the contact movement doesn’t get too big. “Big” in this context means national TV coverage and major press conferences, activities carried out by Dr. Greer’s CSETI.

The mass media and academia devote considerable attention to the possibility of Extra-terrestrial life in some distant solar system. The Public Broadcasting System regularly produces expensive documentaries on this theme that reach millions of viewers. Slick national magazines also cover the possibility that we are not alone in the Universe. Of course they are allowed to do so as long as ET is portrayed as being far-far away. So here again the Cabal doesn’t care how big the coverage gets as long as it doesn’t get too close to revealing the truth about ongoing ET visitations.

Given what I see as the potential violence inherent in the Control Groups, after all according to the judgment of many insiders they are extremely powerful, operate outside of the law and under conditions of enormous secrecy, it is not unreasonable to surmise that ETI might carefully limit the growth of our contact movement to prevent a violent reaction from the Cabal.

Thus I am suggesting that our “friends in high places” may be deliberately limiting our documentation as a way of keeping a check on our movement (i.e. not getting too big too fast) and not inciting a disruptive attack on us by the Control Groups. It is understandable that such a cautionary control mechanism if it exists, would cause considerable frustration in our activists who are eager to document high-level CE-5 experiences.

Of course this is all highly speculative. Nevertheless it is the speculation of an experienced political activist who is completing his second decade within what I like to call “the contact underground.” As Ufologist Stanton Friedman likes to say, “The Extra-terrestrials did not just fall off the cabbage wagon.” They are in my opinion well prepared for the ongoing struggle that will lead to the realization that Earth is not alone. Given that we are a relatively young race, often ignorant and violent, it seems to me that they have a tiger by the tail. Caution is the order of the day.

Long live the unity of all conscious and intelligent beings in the universe!

One universe, one people!
