Native American Perspective on the ET phenomena

Excellent article. A different perspectives from natives.
Although I cannot speak for my people (the Plains Cree), my perception and understanding of the ET phenomena as a Native person and its global implications nevertheless comes in large part from having been partially raised within the culture itself.

But first, a bit of my background.

My name is Stephane Wuttunee. Although technically mixed blooded (my mother is French Canadian with a bit of Micmac blood from a few generations back), I possess full Native status both in the eyes of my people and the Canadian government. Our community is called Red Pheasant First Nation. It is a mid sized reserve found in west central Saskatchewan, Canada.

The first thing that one must know of my culture and its ways is that traditionally, we give far greater attention to the seeking of the spiritual understanding of things rather than going after “the truth” as people from dominant cultures tend to do. This is part of the reason why we tend to stand back and view or listen at first rather than barge in with questions or take the hard, direct approach. Anyone who has spent time with traditional Native elders will understand this, as a good amount of chopping wood, fetching groceries, and tending fires and such tends to take place before one is given or told teachings. With us, the more and harder one pursues, the further they get away from what they seek. Be still and quiet and true to yourself and others, and what you need will come to you.

The second thing one must be aware of about our culture is that it is absolutely impossible to hide anything from a Native elder. I know that sounds incredible in this age where virtually anything can be faked or hidden, but it is true. A traditional Aboriginal elder can read someone inside and out better than yesterday’s paper – and often even from a distance just by looking at them. Perhaps this comes from thousands upon thousands of years of having been so close to the land and the creatures. We tend to be excellent observers and scouts. So staying true to one’s self and honest is the best way to be around Indian people in general (and for that matter, throughout life as well).

Dr. Edgar Mitchell

I liked how Dr. Mitchell was presented in the following article. It is an excellent overview of what he accomplished to get where he is now.

Ever since I was a child, I have been enamored by the space program. I read endlessly about astronauts, about rockets, the Saturn V, the moon landings, everything. I always envisioned my life as being part of this program that I loved so much. As is the case with most people, my life didn´t turn out quite like I thought it would. It turned out better! I am married to a wonderful woman that I might not have met had my life went where I thought it should.

One of my heroes was an astronaut named Edgar Mitchell. Mitchell was the sixth man to walk on the moon, and holds the record for the longest moon walk on foot, a total of 9 hours and 17 minutes, which occurred on February 9, 1971. I was getting ready to celebrate my second birthday!

Edgar Mitchell attended Carnegie Institute of Technology, obtaining a bachelors degree in industrial management. In 1953, he joined the US Navy, serving as a pilot, eventually becoming a research and test pilot. He continued his education, obtaining a bachelors degree in aeronautical engineering, then a Doctorate of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Becoming an astronaut in 1966, his only space mission was as Landing Module pilot on Apollo 14 with Alan Shepard. It was at this time that his historic moonwalk occurred.

Dr. Mitchell retired from NASA in 1972. Since that time, Mitchell has been trying to get a message out to the American public that we are not alone.

Vatican scientist says belief in God and aliens is OK

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – The Vatican’s chief astronomer says there is no conflict between believing in God and in the possibility of “extraterrestrial brothers” perhaps more evolved than humans.
“In my opinion this possibility (of life on other planets) exists,” said Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, a 45-year-old Jesuit priest who is head of the Vatican Observatory and a scientific adviser to Pope Benedict.

“How can we exclude that life has developed elsewhere,” he told the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano in an interview in its Tuesday-Wednesday edition, explaining that the large number of galaxies with their own planets made this possible.

Asked if he was referring to beings similar to humans or even more evolved than humans, he said: “Certainly, in a universe this big you can’t exclude this hypothesis”.

In the interview headlined “The extraterrestrial is my brother,” he said he saw no conflict between belief in such beings and faith in God.

Larry King Live with Robert Salas on the E.T. Phenomena

Back on blogging! Glad to be back to get you the latest information related to the ET phenomena. This is a clip of the Larry King latest show. I’m still wondering when CNN is going to spin this around to support the covert group Hoaxed threat from space.

Roswell again, on Larry King Show

I can’t understand why people are still saying their would be panic upon disclosure. We have been prepared for this for decades. TV shows, the work of NASA in exploring space, the Disclosure Project, movies like E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Contact, etc. And we also understand that if they were Hostile, we wouldn’t be breathing this air. They would have taken over a couple hundred years ago when we were few people on this planet.

Here is a short clip of the Larry King Roswell Show, ignore the advertising.

Christian Theologians Prepare for Extraterrestrial Life

By BRANDON KEIM

Little green men might shock the secular public. But the Catholic Church would welcome them as brothers.

That’s what Vatican chief astronomer and papal science adviser Gabriel Funes explained in a recent article in L’Osservatore Romano, the newsletter of the Vatican Observatory (translated here). His conclusion might surprise nonbelievers. After all, isn’t this the same church that imprisoned Galileo for saying that the Earth revolves around the sun? Doesn’t the Bible say that God created man — not little green men — in his image?

Indeed, many observers assert that aliens would be bad for believers. Jill Tarter, director of the Center for SETI Research, once wrote that finding intelligent other-worldly life “will be inconsistent with the existence of God or at least organized religions.” But such predictions tend to come from outside Christianity. From within, theologians have debated the implications of alien contact for centuries. And if one already believes in angels, no great leap of faith is required to accept the possibility of other extraterrestrial intelligences.

Quite a step forward in the last couple of weeks?
The transmission is being undertaken as part of the Doritos Broadcast Project, which invited the UK public to create a 30 second video clip that could be beamed out to the universe offering a snap shot of life on earth to anyone ‘out there’. 61% of the UK public believe this is just the start of communication with ET life and that we will enter into regular communication with an alien species at some stage in the future.

Nasa sponsors course on how to talk to aliens

wow! Is it just me, or things have been really moving forward in the last 2-3 months?
English students at the University of Wyoming are being encouraged to consider the possibility that humanity might one day make contact with aliens and then not know what to say.

“Interstellar Message Composition”, a creative writing class, is believed to be the first of its kind to engage writers in a potential cosmic conversation, say its founders.

“We’ve thought a lot about how we might communicate with other worlds, but we haven’t thought much about what we’d actually say,” Prof Jeffrey Lockwood, the course leader, told ABC News.

The course, currently being taken by 11 students, is partly financed by Nasa’s Wyoming Space Grant Consortium, which sponsors educational and research projects in the state that support the agency’s missions.

Among questions tackled in Prof Lockwood’s class is how aliens might communicate, whether they would be able to translate human language, and whether they would be able to see or hear.

One student, Dixie Thoman, created a poem about menstruation with syllables arranged in a mathematically harmonious order, known as the Fibonacci sequence.

Recordings of the Brandenburg Concerto and Johnny B Goode are among those that have been beamed into space over the years in an attempt to provoke an extraterrestrial response.

The course is being advised by Douglas Vakoch, director of interstellar message composition for the Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute in California.

“It could be tomorrow that we’ll need to be ready to decide if we reply [to aliens],” he said. “It’s really critical to have people start thinking about it and it makes sense to start with writers. These are people who are really trying to express the human condition.”

Humans and their Masks by Moltzan

I’m not sure on how I should present the following article. I find it fascinating. Full of questions and full of answers…

Dear E.T.,

I need to make a confession about my species.

Humans lie.

A lie is a statement or allusion to something untrue that is meant to deceive someone.

A primary human weakness is that everybody feels that they are forced into lying.

Some lies have negative intentions while others have positive intentions.

A couple common reasons that people lie are to gain power and to please others.

This confession of humans lying bothers me.

I have a friend, Rick Stotts, who has written a blog concerning this subject.

Immediately, my reaction was anger but then I realized I was angry because I knew the validity of this truth.

So I must tell you the truth about lying…

What Would You Say to ET?

Interesting Article.

The students in Wyoming came up with five questions for an interplanetary visitor:

If you have fear, what do you fear?
What is the ultimate purpose of your species’ life?
How can we extend the longevity of our civilization?
What makes you and your kind happy?
What should we know?

This is a cool initiative. I just hope they do it with the best intentions and are honest about it. I would hate to see them misguide experiencers into thinking our space brothers are coming here to kick our butt. The immense propaganda based on misleading and entirely false deductions and investigation, is enough to scare the heck out of these experiencers. I would be intimidated myself if it wasn’t for the clear view I have about abduction, cow mutilation, etc… So I guess, this hotline could be a bad thing or a good thing, depending on how well represented our space brothers are.

A UFO hotline has been launched to report sightings over Islington – and the group behind it is offering counselling to spooked residents.

The Islington Ufology and Supernatural Studies group has created the service to allow them to react quickly to sightings, such as the lights spotted over Archway last year. It claims that Islington is a “hotspot” for paranormal activity – and says seeing a UFO can be deeply troubling, requiring a couch and a sympathetic ear.

Paul Southcott, 49, of New North Road, Islington, behind the hotline, said: “There are a lot of people out there who have experienced something and they don’t know who to turn to because they just feel silly.

“We will listen and talk them through it to give them some idea about what they are going through. People will ring up when they get the bottle and feel ready to tell us what happened and get it off their chest. If someone did ring up and say there is a light overhead our investigators would go there straight away.”

Mr Southcott, who is not working due to poor health, added: “North London is a hotspot for this kind of thing.”

But writer and UFO sceptic Ian Ridpath said: “I can’t really imagine anyone who saw the Archway UFOs was gravely shaken by the experience, so perhaps it is a touch overdramatic. But maybe I am just an old cynic. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. And if anything is reported I hope they will look at all possible explanations – including things like party balloons…”

To report a flying saucer or seek counselling following a “close encounter” call the hotline on 07500 346 688.

Ancient Chinese Texts Indicate Alien Sightings Four Thousand Years Ago

Strange stories of aliens visiting Earth are found not only in science fiction, but newspapers and magazines as well. But alien sightings are not merely a modern phenomenon—these accounts can also be found in ancient Chinese texts. These historical records provide evidence and clues for modern research on aliens.

Contact with Extraterrestrials within two decades, say astronomers

This type of article really makes me happy. When scientists come forward with such declaration, it shows progress. And I speculate that this type of contact will happen without 2 to 5 years, not 20 years.
Mankind will make contact with intelligent alien life within two decades, leading astronomers claim.

The recent discovery of Earth-like planets outside our solar system and the launch of a major Nasa mission in 2009 has brought extra-terrestrial contact a dramatic step closer.

In a BBC two Horizon documentary broadcast tomorrow night, the American astrophysicist Dr Frank Drake said: “Everything has caused us to become more optimistic.”

The 76-year-old – who founded the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence project (SETI) in 1961 – added: “We really believe that in the next 20 years or so, we are going to learn a great deal more about life beyond Earth and very likely we will have detected that life and perhaps even intelligent life elsewhere in the galaxy.”

Nearly half a century ago, Dr Drake devised an equation to estimate the number of alien civilisations in the galaxy.

It takes into account seven factors including the rate at which stars are born in the Milky Way, roughly how many have planets, whether they might be habitable and a guess as to how long an intelligent species exists.

Although everyone’s answer to the equation differs, Dr Drake said the average estimate was that 10,000 technologically advanced life-forms exist in the galaxy.

The theory was dismissed by many experts until April last year when a Swiss team discovered the first two planets, called Gliese 581 c and d, outside the Solar System that could support life.

Dr Drake said: “It shows the potential that life-bearing planets exist.”

SETI senior astronomer Dr Seth Shostak, based in California, told Horizon: “There are 200 billion stars just in our galaxy and at least half of them probably have planets (orbiting them), so that’s 100 billion planetary systems with, let’s say, five planets in each system.

“That’s 500 billion planets out there, and bear in mind there are 100 billion other galaxies.

“To think this (the Earth) is the only place where anything interesting is happening, you have got to be really audacious to take that point of view.”

The search for life on other planets will take a huge step forward next year when Nasa launches its Kepler space telescope, which will constantly scan the same 100,000 stars over its entire four-year mission to discover Earth-sized planets in the habitable zones around suns.

Once Kepler identifies the planets most likely to sustain life, the team at SETI will focus its deep-space listening equipment on those solar systems, instead of randomly scanning the outer reaches of space as at present.

Time to move on, a diplomatic relationship desperately needed…

Joseph Capp definitively has a point. But can we afford to miss what could be the most important event in human history? We have to grow up from this warlike teen period into adulthood. Time for a formal invitation to land and initiate talks.
My own story, ET Shock… and Witnesses of the Directed Kind

I took enough psychology courses in college to know that the human mind deals with the fantastic in many different ways.

But a study has never been done on what happens when a person goes through fantastic, continuing UFO experiences. There’s quite a range of transformation: witnesses may report spiritual change, some are possessed by the need to find answers, and some, after this reality extension, are mentally broken, finding answers in fantasy and delusion.

There are gullible people in the UFO community, we all know that. And there are people in the greater UFO community who come from an academic, or a no-nonsense orientation. Both types choose to read the UFO witness as a confirmation of their own beliefs.

But what about those who are broken by their fear, or for other reasons, around a continuing experience and start to believe fantastic things about themselves and their reality? What happens to them? At the conferences, I notice the interaction seems to be either polite listening or a more active confirming that their fantasies could be real.

We know for certain now, some UFO witnesses are experiencing multiple strange displays of UFOs. And what’s more, there are reports among this particular experiencer group of messages heard in their minds, of feeling compelled to go somewhere and capture video or being ‘instructed’ to simply show up and watch.

Sounds like something from a Twilight Zone episode…and some in the UFO field think that is all it is. Skeptics laugh and pose the dumb question: “Why would ETs go a zillion light years to put on displays for the Prozac People?”

UFO Hunters on History Channel, Abductionist propaganda?

Joe Burks here underline the important differences between what true diplomatic relations should be, and the more double faced Exopolitics trend. A lot of these Exopoliticians are convinced part of the ET groups up there are good and another part conducts experiments on us. This is certainly not how we should present ourselves to them, if true world wide contact would happen, especially since we have large amount of evidence that covert groups are involved with those experiments, without a shred of proof ETIs have any interest in doing that to the population.

Below is an article originally posted on the CSETI Forums, and distributed here with the permission of Dr. Joseph Burkes.

In an important position paper last month “Exopolitics or Xenopolitics?”, Dr. Steven Greer responded to what he has identified as a dangerous trend in the emerging field of Exopolitics. His analysis starts with a sober acknowledgment of humanity’s limited knowledge concerning Et visitors, clearly more is unknown than is known in the vast field of ET studies. He reminds us that the willingness of some to jump to negative conclusions about ET methods and intentions will likely lead to unparalleled disaster. An important message that clearly Dr. Sala and others have not yet taken to heart.

Dr. Greer cautions us to look critically at “xenophobic rumors” during these “early stages of the ET interactions and relations.” He also councils us that “There is no way to assess an ET agenda without grasping the covert human agenda.” As in the past he aptly advises us of the danger that the reality of ET visitations will be used to promote conflict. He calls on us to “penetrate the halls of smoking mirrors that is the vast shadow governments propaganda machine.” Dr. Steven Greer concludes with the proposal that a, “council of concerned citizens” be formed to promote, a peaceful relationship with these cosmic visitors.

In my opinion this is no less than a call for a campaign of education and action. Dr. Greer suggests this new group might be called the “Council on Interplanetary Relations.” If past CSETI attempts to work in coalition are reviewed, one major obstacle can be clearly identified. That being the way in which alleged alien abductions are being used to promote fear. If a Council on Interplanetary Relations is to be created, then those who desire universal peace and cooperation will need to confront the alien abductionist subculture in its many forms.

Who can be trusted to start this work? In my opinion contactees and their supporters will play a central role. By our personal experience we can give a positive alternative vision of the ET-human relationship. We will need to study the ways in which alien abduction theorists operate. I’ve thought about this endeavor for over ten years, ever since Dr. Greer first suggested it to me in Asheville after a CSETI meeting. I strongly suspect a careful investigation will reveal how hypnosis is being abused by so called alien abduction researchers and that CE-4 witnesses are being manipulated to create narratives of pure terror. The role of corporate dominated “infotainment” industry in service to the Control Groups will also need to be examined. Those who choose to study this complex problem will likely have to identify the many ways in which “high strangeness” manifests during human-ET interactions. An analysis of the extraordinary psychical capabilities of ETI will also be needed. All are controversial subjects to tackle.

This is clearly an ambitions project. I invite other members of the list to dialogue with me concerning these suggestions. I will be posting information and hope others will join me in this exciting and important research endeavor.

One universe, one people!
Sincerely

Joe Burkes MD

Japan’s science minister hopes aliens exist

TOKYO (AFP) – Japan’s science minister said Friday he hoped aliens existed so children would become more interested in space, as a debate on UFOs continued to demand the attention of the cabinet.

“It would be fun if they existed,” education and science minister Kisaburo Tokai told reporters.

“There have been films like ‘ET.’ Children may grow up with ambitions regarding space,” he said, referring to Steven Spielberg’s 1982 classic about a boy’s friendship with an extraterrestrial.

Japan has an increasingly ambitious space programme, with a major lunar probe launched in September. But it is struggling to boost children’s interest in science with a survey this month showing Japanese students came last internationally in the percentage seeking science careers.

Tokai said the cabinet, despite other pressing issues and a new poll showing a sharp fall in public support, started its regular meeting Friday with a lively discussion about UFOs.

But he declined to take sides on whether he personally believed in alien life-forms.

“The government is not considering a study on UFOs but I want to ask various things if I meet experts,” he said.

The science minister’s comments came a day after Defence Minister Shigeru Ishiba said he was looking at how Japan’s military could respond to an alien invasion under the pacifist constitution.

The debate was set off on Tuesday when the government, asked for its position by an opposition lawmaker, stated it had no knowledge of UFOs.

The statement prompting a surprise rebuttal from chief government spokesman Nobutaka Machimura, who said: “Personally, I absolutely believe they exist.”

At 90, sci-fi guru wishes that E.T. would call

Arthur C. Clarke also wishes for cleaner energy and peace in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – Science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke listed three wishes on his 90th birthday: for the world to embrace cleaner energy resources, for a lasting peace in his adopted home, Sri Lanka, and for evidence of extraterrestrial beings.

“I have always believed that we are not alone in this universe,” Clarke said in a speech to a small gathering of scientists, astronauts and government officials Sunday in Colombo where he lives.

Humans are waiting until extraterrestrial beings “call us or give us a sign,” he said. “We have no way of guessing when this might happen. I hope sooner rather than later.”
