USA Impeachment hearings for VP Cheney

Fri, 14 Dec 2007

Rep. Robert Wexler (FL-19) and two other Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee – Luis Gutierrez (IL-04) and Tammy Baldwin (WI-02) – today called on the committee to begin impeachment hearings for Vice President Cheney.

They declared, “The charges are too serious to ignore. There is credible evidence that the Vice President abused the power of his office, and not only brought us into an unneccesary war but violated the civil liberties and privacy of American citizens. It is the constitutional duty of Congress to hold impeachment hearings.”

The three Democrats wrote an op-ed to announce their position, but none of the nation’s leading newspapers would publish it – just as they refuse to include impeachment in their polls, and just as they refuse to publish their own investigations of the crimes of the Bush Administration. Why? Because the Corporate Media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Republican Party, as it has been since the Reagan Revolution of 1980.

So this important announcement was made on a Blogcall hosted by Democrat.com, and was covered by progressive blogs – the only news media that serves the people, not the Corporations.

You can read the full op-ed at Rep. Wexler’s new site – http://wexlerwantshearings.com – where you can also watch a powerful video by Wexler.

Rep. Wexler needs to collect 50,000 signatures to convince his Democratic colleagues that the American people truly support impeachment hearings. So please sign his petition:

You can also send an email to Wexler’s other colleagues on Judiciary:

Rep. Dennis Kucinich: Effort to Impeach Vice President Cheney Still Alive

On Tuesday, Dennis Kucinich nearly forced the full House to vote on his measure to impeach Cheney. House Resolution 333 accuses Cheney of deliberately manipulating intelligence and deceiving the public to build support for the invasion of Iraq and now towards a possible attack on Iran. Impeach Vice President Dick Cheney

This is VERY interesting viewing: Youtube.com

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) announced he would move to force a vote next week on his resolution calling for the impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney.

“The momentum is building for impeachment,” Kucinich said in a statement on his Web site. “Millions of citizens across the nation are demanding Congress rein in the Vice President’s abuse of power.

Kucinich said he plans to introduce a privileged resolution, which would have priority for a House floor vote, on Nov. 6. A vote on the measure would be required within two days.

Observers expect a motion to table Kucinich’s resolution, which has 21 Democratic co-sponsors. It is almost certain that such a move to kill the resolution would be successful, but activists are urging members of Congress to support Kucinich’s move.

“We need you to ask your representative to vote No on tabling, Yes on giving impeachment a chance,” wrote David Swanson on the pro-impeachment Website AfterDowningStreet.org. “Those who vote Yes to table cannot use the excuse that ‘We don’t have the votes,’ since others will at that same instant with exactly the same exertion be voting No. Please scroll down to contact Congress and the media right away!”

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has long said that impeachment was “off the table” and Kucinich has had little success spurring legislative action on his resolutions, despite the growing number of lawmakers who have signed on as co-sponsors since it was introduced this spring.

Kucinich Calls For B-52 Nuke, New 911 Investigations

By Leland Lehrman

US Senate Candidate, New Mexico
10-10-7

In 2003/4, I ran Dennis Kucinich’s campaign for President in Santa Fe, NM. It was my first political effort since the long journey away from the Republican party into which I had been born. The effort had additional benefits: while planting Kucinich for President signs around Santa Fe, I met a former Captain in US Army Intelligence who was able to substantially add to my understanding of the 9/11 Inside Job. Very substantially.*

I have never seen the Congressman so morally energized and talented than he was at the standing room only Albuquerque town hall forum. But the real news coming from this event is that Congressman Kucinich, in public comments to me in my job as a newspaper editor, revealed that he supports both an investigation of the nuclear armed B-52 that flew from Minot to Barksdale as well as a full new 911 investigation.

In 2004, Kucinich was wary of 9/11 inside job questions from his New Mexico campaign, saying he had no evidence to support such a thesis and acting worried that comments he made might be used against him later. Now, although he didn’t describe the nature of his concern, he has made it clear that a full investigation of the events is necessary. Reports from activists during the past months have suggested that he was in favor of a “limited” new 911 investigation. I asked him point blank: “limited or full investigation.” His answer: “full investigation.” The body language was very clear that we need to get to the bottom of it. Prayers for Dennis are in order, and a contingent of Marine security specialists.

The Congressman was equally forceful and certain on the question of the B-52 overflight. With both awareness of the news on the subject and the gravity of the situation, Kucinich immediately agreed that a Congressional investigation should be conducted. My followup question was, “How does one start such an investigation in Congress?” to which Dennis replied with his trademark straight-shooting: “I just did it.”

Adding to the seriousness of the situation, during his public speech, in front of cameras, news media and roughly 500 supporters, Kucinich stated publicly that were he to be elected, one of his first actions would be to turn over Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gates, Rice et al to law enforcement for prosecution.**

Dennis wasn’t kidding either, he prefaced this statement with a slow and deliberate announcement that he wanted his stance on the Administration’s criminality to be public. The man is serious. After he was done answering my questions, we shook hands and looked straight at each other. He may be running for President, but Dennis is one of us.

** In the approving roar of the crowd it was impossible to hear what the charges were, perhaps it will be possible to discern his words better in the video soon to be posted at kucinich.us and on the campaign’s YouTube Channel.

Cheney’s Ouster May Be Last Chance To Stop World War III

by Jeffrey Steinberg

The latest word from the Democratic chicken-coop on Capitol Hill is that, if President Bush orders military strikes against Iran, both he and Vice President Dick Cheney will be immediately impeached. This is the newest prize-winning excuse-of-the-week being circulated by a number of leading Democratic lawmakers to their key constituents, who remain fit-to-be-tied over the Dems’ capitulation to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who has declared, for months, that impeachment is “off the table.”

Just when you thought that things could’t get worse, Congressional Democrats, having failed to support Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s (D-Ohio) H.R. 333, calling for the impeachment of Cheney, have now gone one step further towards capitulating to another devastating Cheney-Bush war, through legislative acts of treachery that have given the White House a green light to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age—even as internal political developments in Iran suggest that the war party in Tehran has been weakened.

On Sept. 26, by a vote of 76-22, the U.S. Senate approved an amendment to the defense authorization bill, calling on President Bush to list Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a “foreign terrorist organization,” subject to a wide range of economic sanctions. Military experts consulted by EIR confirmed that, while the designation principally authorizes economic measures, the ambiguities of the Bush Administration’s so-called “Global War on Terror” makes the Senate vote a de facto endorsement of military action.

As the result of the amendment, which was introduced by two of Cheney’s leading Senate allies—Joe Lieberman (I-Ct.) and Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.)—President Bush can order a bombing campaign against Iran at any time, without having to go to Congress for further authorization, according to a number of constitutional scholars and military analysts.

While two particularly egregious sections of the amendment were removed after protests by Sen. James Webb (D-Va.), prompting some Senators to claim that the vote was not a de facto authorization to go to war, it remains to be seen whether the White House, particularly Cheney, will abide by that strict “interpretation.”

The same day that the Senate was providing Bush and Cheney with their backhanded authorization for war, the House of Representatives was caving in similarly. By an overwhelming vote of 408-6, the House passed the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act, which would impose sanctions against any foreign or American companies investing more than $20 million in Iran’s energy sector. According to Inter-Press Services’ Jim Lobe, the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act has been the number-one legislative priority of the Israeli Lobby since the beginning of the year.

Once again, the stage has been set for a Bush-Cheney preemptive war. As Lyndon LaRouche has been warning for months, the only sure-fire war avoidance option left is the immediate ouster of Dick Cheney from office.

Scenario for World War III

On Sept. 25, retired CIA officer Philip Giraldi penned a frightening piece for antiwar.com, which took up the potential consequences of a U.S. military confrontation with Iran. Under the provocative title “What World War III May Look Like,” Giraldi spelled out an unfortunately realistic scenario for an escalation of military conflict between the United States and Iran, triggered by a low-level skirmish between U.S. and Iranian soldiers along the Iraq border. Under Giraldi’s scenario, a full-scale war erupts between the United States and Iran, which soon spreads to Iraq, where Shi’ite insurgents engage in large-scale asymmetric combat with American soldiers, who finally have to shoot their way out of the country, at tremendous loss of life. Ultimately, the conflict spreads to the Eastern Mediterranean, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent; it sparks a war between India and Pakistan, a violent coup in Afghanistan, a war between Israel and Syria/Lebanon, rioting throughout the Muslim nations of the Asia Pacific region, and, ultimately, U.S. use of nuclear weapons, which draws both Russia and China to the brink of intervention. As Giraldi concludes, “World War III has begun.”

While we are hopefully some distance away from such an Armageddon nightmare, the onrushing global financial meltdown, and the tensions and war-moves throughout Southwest Asia make it a most appropriate time to take seriously the warnings offered by the former CIA officer.

Furthermore, according to a variety of Washington military sources, the U.S. Air Force is stepping up war plans against Iran through a planning unit called Project Checkmate. Created in the 1970s to plan out strategic warfare against the Soviet Union, Project Checkmate was revived in the early 1990s, as the air-war planning unit for Operation Desert Storm. In June of this year, Project Checkmate was reactivated, to plan for future wars, targetted immediately at Iran, and, in the longer term, against North Korea and China. According to a Sept. 23, report in Rupert Murdoch’s London Sunday Times, Project Checkmate is the Air Force’s primo planning agency. Col. John Warden (USAF), who ran Project Checkmate in the 1990s, told the Times that the unit is vastly better situated to plan out the next war than the staff at the Central Command. “The Centcoms of this world are executional—they don’t have the staff, the expertise, or the responsibility to do the thinking that is needed before a country makes the decision to go to war. War planning is not just about bombs, airplanes and sailing boats,” he told the Times’ Sarah Baxter.

A wide array of Washington insiders interviewed by EIR confirm that there is a humongous faction fight inside the Bush Administration, over war on Iran. Vice President Cheney remains the chief proponent of preventive war, and Defense Secretary Robert Gates, with the backing of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the CIA, opposes it, arguing instead for robust diplomacy. One centerpiece of the fight is the still-pending National Intelligence Estimate on Iran’s nuclear program. The report was, according to several sources, completed in February and submitted in draft to the White House; but it has been sent back to the intelligence community at least four times. The reason? The report concludes that Iran will not have the capacity to build a nuclear bomb until sometime in the next decade—after Bush-Cheney have left office.

Giving Ahmadinejad the Saddam Treatment

One of the more clearcut indications that the war party is still pressing for an attack on Iran came during the visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to New York City, to address the United Nations General Assembly. U.S. intelligence sources have confirmed that Ahmadinejad was sent to the United States, under orders from the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Kamenei, to signal that Iran is prepared to compromise and avoid war. In appearances at Columbia University, on CBS-TV’s “Sixty Minutes,” and in a closed-circuit broadcast into the National Press Club in Washington, the Iranian President was repeatedly insulted and ridiculed. As one longtime Middle East observer put it, “Ahmadinejad was given the Saddam Hussein treatment,” referring to an early 1990s Diane Sawyer interview with Saddam, in which he was publicly trashed, as a signal that the United States was turning towards war.

Just hours after Columbia University President Lee Bollinger delivered a 30-minute “bill of indictment” against the Iranian leader, in introducing him to a university audience, a group of scholars and journalists gathered at the Washington, D.C. campus of Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), to discuss the Iranian situation. One speaker, M.J. Rosenberg of the Israel Policy Forum, an organization created after the 1993 Oslo Accords to promote a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, lamented that Dr. Bollinger’s behavior had reminded him of “the Soviet Union.”

The forum was convened to release a new book by SAIS graduate Dr. Trita Parsi, on the complex and treacherous relationship among Israel, Iran, and the United States. Dr. Parsi and the other speakers highlighted the recent signals by the government in Tehran, that it wishes to resolve all the issues of conflict with Washington, through diplomacy and compromise, not military conflict. The re-emergence of Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, as a counterweight to President Ahmadinejad; the recent progress in Iranian negotiations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over Iran’s nuclear energy program; and the Iranian government’s release of a number of Iranian-American dual citizens from custody, were all cited as evidence of a turn in Iranian diplomacy towards the United States. Furthermore, Dr. Parsi cited the May 2003 communiqué between then-Iranian President Seyyed Mohammad Khatami and then-U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, offering comprehensive bilateral talks “with no preconditions,” as evidence that Iran has been seeking a diplomatic rapprochement with Washington for a long time. That May 2003 offer was flat-out rejected by the Bush White House, with Cheney and then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld most agressively opposing any talk with Iran.

EIR’s own sources emphasize that Iran’s top leadership has woken up to the fact that at least some factions inside the Bush White House are intent on a military confrontation with Iran, before leaving office, and that the Iranians are attempting to demonstrate that they are prepared to negotiate.

It is in this context that LaRouche has again warned Congress that its failure to force Dick Cheney’s ouster from office could go down as the fatal act of cowardice that destroyed the American Republic.

WMD LIES – Bush Cheney Rumsfeld etc. – THE ULTIMATE CLIP

So how much longer before they impeach them?

Analyzing conspiracy theories after September 11 attacks

Recently television’s THE HISTORY CHANNEL aired a special analyzing the various conspiracy theories that have emerged since the events of September 11, 2001 (hereinafter 9/11), when passenger airplanes commandeered by hijackers, allegedly operating under the directions of Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, struck the World Trade Center in New York City, and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Although this special initially claimed that it would present “both sides” of the issue, it quickly became clear that its sole purpose was to debunk the conspiracy theorists.

However, in its zeal to do so, this special glossed over the fact that two schools of thought have emerged to challenge the “official” version of 9/11. The first school, which this special took great pains to discredit, has argued that the Bush dictatorship played an active role in the planning and execution of the events that occurred on that fateful day. The second school has argued that the Bush dictatorship’s culpability in the 9/11 attacks was not through act, but through omission, by allowing the 9/11 attacks to occur.

Both schools appear to agree that the Bush dictatorship had two motives for desiring the attacks of 9/11: 1). To create the fear and outrage necessary so Americans would unquestioningly swallow the lies that led to the Iraqi war; 2). To compel Americans to sacrifice their civil liberties by making them more concerned about “safety” and “security” than freedom and democracy.

It is this second school of thought that this HISTORY CHANNEL special failed to debunk, and ironically it is the one that has the most evidence supporting it.

First there are the characters of two of the principal players: George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. Many pundits have argued that these two men are not “evil” enough to sacrifice the lives of thousands of Americans for self-serving political and economic gain.

However, Bush’s cavalier attitude regarding the potential death of innocents rebuts this argument. While governor of Texas, Bush presided over the executions of more than one hundred and fifty people. While vile enough in itself, Bush also routinely denied thirty day reprieves to death row inmates so DNA testing could be conducted that might exonerate them. Also, while governors in other states were permitting such testing, or declaring moratoriums on the death penalty altogether because of the number of wrongfully convicted people cleared through DNA tests, Bush was boasting that “no innocent person had been executed under his watch,” a relatively easy boast to make considering that in Texas all evidence is destroyed immediately after an execution, thereby making posthumous DNA testing impossible.

Meanwhile Cheney is the paradigm of a bullying coward, who demands sacrifices of others he refused to make himself, and who lusts for the blood of those weaker than him. To avoid serving in the Vietnam War, Cheney received five deferments, because he lacked the courage to face an adversary who could shoot back. Now Cheney “bravely” engages in the “sport” of caged hunts, where helpless animals are penned in with no means of escape while Cheney and his ilk gun them down.

Then there are the actions of the Bush dictatorship. These were people who lusted for power so badly they were willing to defy the will of the American people and undermine democracy to steal not one, but two elections. And the bellicose cries for war against Iraq echoed throughout the Bush dictatorship long before the events of 9/11 even occurred.

After 9/11, the Bush dictatorship eagerly, and without compunction, lied about Saddam Hussein’s alleged involvement in 9/11, and Iraq’s alleged “weapons of mass destruction” in order to start the war it had covertly clamored for since the election theft of 2000.

To date thousands of Americans, and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians, have died because of these lies. So do Bush and his minions sound like people who would hesitate to sacrifice a few thousand lives on American soil to infect the nation with the fear and anger necessary to launch their illegal war?

And one should not forget that the now disgraced, and possibly perjurious, former Attorney General of the United States, Alberto Gonzales, was so desperate to carry out the Bush dictatorship’s directive to undermine civil liberties in the United States that he actually visited his hospitalized predecessor John Ashcroft in the intensive care unit, where he was recovering from gallbladder surgery, in order to force Ashcroft to recertify a domestic spying program that the Justice Department had determined was illegal.

Add to this the CIA torture chambers, secret prisons and detention camps the Bush dictatorship has scattered throughout the world, and mix in the willingness to imprison and torture American citizens that the dictatorship labels “enemy combatants,” and it is not difficult to conceive that Bush and his minions are capable of doing anything to achieve their corrupt political ends.

However, as I’ve argued in previous Pravda.ru articles, even if one does not believe that George W. Bush and his minions are capable of destroying the lives of American citizens on a mass scale, this does not mean that the Bush dictatorship escapes all guilt for the events of 9/11. After all, the use of airplanes in the United States in the manner employed on 9/11 was unprecedented. In the past, terrorist actions using aircraft either involved force or threat of force to compel a plane to fly to a country that the hijacker(s) believed harbored a sympathetic government, or became a hostage taking scenario where hijackers demanded certain concessions in exchange for the release of captives.

Therefore it was highly probable that the Bush dictatorship, having knowledge of a pending terrorist action involving airplanes, simply concluded that any hijacking would be of the “traditional” variety, and that this style of hijacking alone would be enough to whip Americans into the jingoistic frenzy necessary to launch the illegal invasion of Iraq. Unfortunately, by the time the magnitude of the 9/11 events became evident, it was too late to do anything about them.

Whatever the explanation, one fact is clear: the events of 9/11, as nightmarish as they were, tragically blinded far too many Americans to the greater nightmare that had hijacked the nation one year earlier, during the infamous coup of 2000—the nightmare known as the “presidency” of George W. Bush.

The Man Behind the Curtain
Cheney Running the Show in Washington

Toronto ON – August 9, 2007 – The disturbing perspective below by Ted Lang helps to clarify the upcoming actions of the White House to usurp the upcoming elections for “national security” reasons. It also provides a context for why American soldiers are invading Canada this August 20 in Montebello Quebec.

When it happens, it will all sound totally legitimate. The American electorate has been sufficiently “terrorized into catatonic fear” that they will accept almost anything Bush and Cheney will say or do. Mr. Lang is far from the first writer to espouse the notion North American democracy has begun to mutate before our very eyes as we watch the long arm of the New American Order reach across the 49th parallel.

Bush’s meeting on August 20, 2007 here in Canada with President Calderon of Mexico and PM Harper to establish the North American Union is not only not on our radar but the Canadian media is ignoring the phalanx of American soldiers that will precede Bush to cordon off a 25 km zone around Montebello Quebec – the location of the meeting – Canadian soil! Is Mr. Harper actively complicit in this or is he just being told what to do?

There is speculation in some circles in Washington that the Bush administration will never give up power and will do anything to retain and extend it – including stating that Cheney’s office is not part of the Executive Branch of the government.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/06/cheney-power-gr.html

The number of members of the American Congress who are in favour of impeachment of Cheney is growing by the day – the evidence is all there. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/24/AR2007042401542.html

The articulate work below by Ted Lang describes this and what most people behind the scenes in Washington are thinking. Cheney is the man pulling all of the levers and switches.

While the Disclosure of the an ET presence looms ever more prominent as the months unfold, the more the rhetoric increases about how Cheney and Bush may invoke some form of dictatorial “move” to suspend civil rights including control of the media and the capacity for the The New American Order to designate anyone – an enemy – including Extraterrestrials.

As we go about our daily routine – perhaps oblivious to the signs of the contrivances being spun by two mad men in Washington – consider these recent words by someone close to the scene, former Vice President Walter Mondale :

“The corollary to Cheney’s zealous embrace of secrecy is his near total aversion to the notion of accountability. I’ve never seen a former member of the House of Representatives demonstrate such contempt for Congress… His insistence on invoking executive privilege to block virtually every congressional request for information has been stupefying — it’s almost as if he denies the legitimacy of an equal branch of government.”

The Cheney Affair
By Ted Lang
Exclusive to Rense.com
7-16-7

Now that mainstream media bias is an established fact and recognized as such by the mainstream reading and viewing public, the revelation of Vice President Dick Cheney’s total unilateral control over all levels and branches of American government has not only raised eyebrows and concerns of dictatorship, but for those politically astute, begs the question as to why theWashington Post would be the journalistic vehicle to publish the four-part June 24 through June 27 series exposing this reality.

The Post’s publisher, Donald E. Graham, has once again participated in the annual secret Bilderberg conclave, the latter the principal organizational player whose membership is made up of extremely high-level international bankers, mass media publishers, corporatists in both the oil industry and the military-industrial complex, and other principal international political movers and shakers. Bilderberg’s primary objective is a one world global government, the New World Order. And the NWO will be phased in via the European and then the North American Union.

Is it safe to say that the most recent Bilderberg <http://www.bilderberg.org/2007.htm>meeting, held in Istanbul May 31 to June 3rd, considered the most vital issues confronting future global government? And of course, those issues would have been 1) Iraq, and 2) Iran. It is clear that American, British and Israeli control over Mid East oil is definitely on the agenda in their lockstep, jackboot march to deliver US all to the New World Order. This triumvirate is the world’s “real axis of evil.”

Mountain ranges of corporate money have been provided to Congress by lobbyists and corporatists representing the oil industry, military weapons contractors, AIPAC, banking and media interests, to not only buy into American government, but to where their “investments” have now facilitated total control of America. They have replaced what was once reserved as the exclusive representative domain of the people of the United States, which allowed the latter their collective voice in government.

And the people’s representatives, after abandoning America’s interests, have turned over congressional war-making powers to Bush, who has in turn delegated virtually all of his presidential duties to Vice President Richard B. Cheney. And Cheney-Bush are profiting personally via heavy investment interests in oil and an oil support industry giant [Halliburton].
Constitutionally speaking, the Office of Vice President of the United States of America has no duties. This inefficate position in the executive branch serves only as President of the Senate, and then functions legislatively only in an extremely narrow capacity to break a deadlocked vote. Complaints about the “do-nothing” status of the vice president’s role and function date back toAmerica’s first Vice President, John Adams.

Considering the absence of constitutionally mandated responsibilities, it should be clear that at least from a regulatory and legal standpoint, there’s little to nothing a vice president can do wrong; he has, basically, no executive branch functions. And it is for this reason that Congressman Dennis Kucinich’s House Resolution 333, seemed at first, to be a wrong-headed exercise in partisan politics hand wringing.

But that was before the Washington Post launched its four-part series. The Post is a nationally recognized bastion of the American mass media. It is the paper of http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/watergate/index.html

Watergate fame, the paper of Bradlee, Bernstein and Woodward. And considering all that the Cheney-Bush regime has done to launch NWO, the attempted legalization of Mexican illegals, the private “negotiations” between Bush and the heads of Canada and Mexico to dissolve totally our borders to create a North American Union, the United States’ unilateral abolition of the Geneva Conventions and other international treaties ensuring and protecting the sovereignty of independent nations, why would Graham’s Washington Post now attack Bilderberg’s “dream team?”

Obviously, something is up with the planners and conspirators maneuvering the human race into a one world global government. The Post series, written by staff writers Barton Gellman and Jo Becker, would never have been allowed off the ground and would have never been accorded so much focus unless it was sanctioned and possibly even urged by the Bilderbergs. And consider the appearance of the series so shortly after the latter’s annual secret meeting. So what’s up? It can only be speculated since the movement for global government is so secret. That is why everything the Cheney-Bush crime machine does is a matter of “national security.” 9/11 was indeed an inside job perpetrated by Cheney-Bush; it is the source of their unlimited dictatorial power. But if they arranged 9/11, why the suspension of our Bill of Rights and why the intense spying on Americans? The answer is obvious: they fear Americans will find out, organize, and plan an armed rebellion.

They do not fear al Qaeda, because al Qaeda doesn’t exist, or at least it didn’t exist in terms of planning and executing 9/11. No, Cheney-Bush intend to enslave America, strip it of its national identity, and serve US all up to the New World Order. Multizillionaire international banker David Rockefeller has already admitted to the latter effort.

Apparently, something has happened to interfere with the bankers’ plans and schedule. Perhaps Cheney-Bush have provided too much evidence of their criminal and treasonist intentions, and the threat of an armed rebellion is now looming larger than ever. Perhaps a military coup is in the wind. Or perhaps, the unpopularity of the Cheney-Bush dictatorship is causing even the world conspirators to fractionalize. Whatever it is, something must be up to have triggered the Gellman-Becker series.

The exposé has now provided solid evidence that Cheney is running the show and is therefore definitely impeachable. As Bruce Fein, a constitutional lawyer and a former associate deputy attorney general under Ronald Reagan wrote in his June 27th article, “Impeach Cheney” and posted in http://www.slate.com/toolbar.aspx?action=print&id=2169292 Slate, “Under Dick Cheney, the office of the vice president has been transformed from a tiny acorn into an unprecedented giant oak. In grasping and exercising presidential powers, Cheney has dulled political accountability and concocted theories for evading the law and the Constitution that would have embarrassed King George III.”

Fein continues: “The most recent invention we know of is the vice president’s insistence that an executive order governing the handling of classified information in the executive branch does not reach his office because he also serves as president of the Senate. In other words, the vice president is a unique legislative-executive creature standing above and beyond the Constitution. The House judiciary committee should commence an impeachment inquiry. As Alexander Hamilton advised in the Federalist Papers, an impeachable offense is a political crime against the nation. Cheney’s multiple crimes against the Constitution clearly qualify.”

During the Clinton administration, Bill Clinton “wrote legislation” via executive orders. The opposition’s beef at the time was that such presidential fiat executive orders were not national law, but were instead confined to operational directives within the executive branch alone. Now Cheney explains his vision that executive orders do not apply to the executive branch of government, and if they do, they don’t apply to him because he has decided he isn’t in the executive branch of government. That’s not what is written in the Constitution. His arrogant defiance of the United States Constitution and an executive order that applies directly to him constitute the very political crimes attorney Bruce Fein pointed out were in violation of the rule of law of this nation.

And although the Gellman-Becker Post series started out promisingly enough, and in spite of the fact that it still evidences a refreshing air of professional journalism, Part I of the series defining Cheney’s criminal dictatorial control gives way later in the series to a condoning tone and a dimension of approval articulating Cheney’s exceptional talent in cutting through the mire of government bureaucracy red tape to arrive expeditiously at common sense solutions. The plight of the Klamath basin farmers in opposing the federal Environmental Protection Agency, a cause resoundingly favored by “conservatives” who hate the bureaucratic stupidity of big government, was presented by the “liberal” Washington Post as a case in point as to Cheney’s astonishing and beneficent vision. Huh?! Championing the rights of individuals trying to earn profits over caring, compassionate, Big Brother government is now a cause for the Washington Post?

As stated, the series does indeed expose Cheney’s dictatorial control, but before the series is over, this dictatorial control is offered up as “good” dictatorship. Perhaps this is the real purpose of the series, to admit to Cheney’s total control of America, but to blunt its horror and danger by pointing out evidence of beneficence. And considering that no more mention of this horrible anomaly in American government can be found anywhere in the mass media, it would seem that its timing and shock effect would wear off quickly given the newspaper mentality and short collective memory of the American public. Again, it is most difficult to surmise the real intent of the series.

Part I is the most shocking in terms of describing how one individual controls ALL in American government. Here’s an example from the opening paragraph: “Just past the Oval Office, in the private dining room overlooking the South Lawn, Vice President Cheney joined President Bush at a round parquet table they shared once a week. Cheney brought a four-page text, written in strict secrecy by his lawyer. He carried it back out with him after lunch.

In less than an hour, the document traversed a West Wing circuit that gave its words the power of command. It changed hands four times, according to witnesses, with emphatic instructions to bypass staff review. When it returned to the Oval Office, in a blue portfolio embossed with the presidential seal, Bush pulled a felt-tip pen from his pocket and signed without sitting down. Almost no one else had seen the text.”
The article continues: “Cheney’s proposal had become a military order from the commander in chief. Foreign terrorism suspects held by the United States were stripped of access to any court — civilian or military, domestic or foreign. They could be confined indefinitely without charges and would be tried, if at all, in closed ‘military commissions.’”

Is this the way American laws should be written? Does this align with Constitutional constraints that provide for a separation of powers and checks and balances to ensure individual freedoms? “Suspects” are now designated as such by the government’s executive branch, and proof in a court of law is now no longer required. And what is to differentiate between a terror suspect and any other kind of suspect? And how about members of a political opposition are they also “terrorists” because they disagree with this criminal administration? Only Cheney and Bush now have this power, which they gave to themselves!

Even members of Bush’s own administration were outraged by this dictatorial fiat. Gellman and Becker elaborate after members of the Bush regime found out about the fiat while still in the dark as to its origin: “‘What the hell just happened?’ Secretary of State Colin L. Powell demanded, a witness said, when CNN announced the order that evening, Nov. 13, 2001. National security adviser Condoleezza Rice, incensed, sent an aide to find out. Even witnesses to the Oval Office signing said they did not know the vice president had played any part.”

As much as Cheney covets total control protected by total secrecy, Gellman and Becker note that, “Cheney expresses indifference, in public and private, to any verdict but history’s, and those close to him say he means it.” But isn’t this the same outlook that can be attributed to Hitler and Stalin? Isn’t it the same indifference and arrogance that justifies “breaking some eggs to make an omelet?”

In the opinion of this writer, there is more behind Cheney’s quest for unlimited power, shrouded in absolute secrecy, and all-encompassing in every matter of federal government control. And the article makes it clear, that anyone who crosses Cheney gets wasted. Gellman and Becker point out to the sharp differences of opinion and the conflicts that former EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman had with Cheney, differences that led her to eventually resign from the agency. They mention former Attorney General John Ashcroft’s differences with Cheney, also leading to his resignation. The article documents Cheney’s meddling with both the EPA and the Department of Justice. And his pressuring the CIA for fraudulent intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraqis now well known.

The Washington Post’s Gellman-Becker series is, whatever the reason for its airing, an absolute masterpiece of journalism, but not for reasons that are immediately obvious. It’s not the writing style, nor is it even the revelations resultant from intense investigative reporting. Perhaps the real benefits of the article have been totally missed by Graham and the Post’s executive staff. The expose answers two not so obvious questions: first, why do we have such an incompetent fool as president, and second, why does such an incompetent fool wield so much power and is so assertive regarding “his” decisions? The series provides the answer: Dick Cheney.

For early on in the quest to rid America of a very popular yet very destructive president, Cheney’s name came up as a dedicated American to replace a dedicated internationalist. And this may be the real reason for the subdued attack/exposure on Cheney. It may not be his fascism that offends, but his nationalism. Perhaps it’s Cheney’s vision for a New World Order controlled byWashington that bothers the Bilderberg internationalists. And it is this same nationalism which turned off the bankers to both Hitler and Stalin. But there is no need to speculate the connection between Cheney and Bush.

Undoubtedly, Cheney was the GOP’s pick to replace Clinton. But because of his heart problems, Cheney would never win a presidential election.
Enter stage right, G. Bush, a simpleton, and an obedient and virtually clueless stooge. Bush serves not only as the buffoon heat sink for the GOP dictatorship, but is also its “decider” as related in the Post’s series when describing how Cheney writes law and Bush decides to sign without either reading or understanding what it is that he is signing. The series explores how Cheney decides on everything that is within the federal government’s purview.

The series explains Cheney’s involvement and direct supervision and control over the Department of Justice, his intimidation of the EPA, his power over the CIA, his total control of foreign policy, and his total control over the White House staff and Bush. Gellman and Becker try to paint the picture that Bush retains some identity distinct from Cheney’s oversight, but at least for this observer, it simply doesn’t work. I’m convinced that Cheney is behind EVERYTHING this dangerous, corrupt and criminal regime has perpetrated. And that would include 9/11!

As Dr. David Ray Griffin has pointed out in his latest book, both the 9/11 Commission report and the government-sanctioned released tapes falsify the timeframe wherein Cheney was in the bunker on 9/11. After reading the Post series, can there be any doubt as to who was in charge on that awful day? Can there be any doubt as to who really ordered those WTC buildings to be “pulled?” Can there be any doubt as to who decided that certain attorneys in the Justice Department were to be let go? And for Hillary and Congressman Nadler, can there be any doubt as to who made the phone call to EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman directing her to lie about the condition of the pulverized glass, concrete and steel in the dust and smoke of the disintegrated WTC buildings? Hillary demanded to know who gave the order to Whitman; now we know!

The benefit of this journalistic effort has little to do with presentation; it has everything to do with timeliness and the solving of the types of mysteries such as Hillary and Congressman Nadler were looking into. Can one imagine the anger in Whitman for having to take the fall for the very guy that forced her to resign? Here are Gellman and Becker again: “Stealth is among Cheney’s most effective tools.
Man-size Mosler safes, used elsewhere in government for classified secrets, store the workaday business of the office of the vice president. Even talking points for reporters are sometimes stamped ‘Treated As: Top Secret/SCI.’ Experts in and out of government said Cheney’s office appears to have invented that designation, which alludes to ‘sensitive compartmented information,’ the most closely guarded category of government secrets. By adding the words ‘treated as,’ they said, Cheney seeks to protect unclassified work as though its disclosure would cause ‘exceptionally grave damage to national security.’”

And, “Across the board, the vice president’s office goes to unusual lengths to avoid transparency. Cheney declines to disclose the names or even the size of his staff, generally releases no public calendar and ordered the Secret Service to destroy his visitor logs. His general counsel has asserted that ‘the vice presidency is a unique office that is neither a part of the executive branch nor a part of the legislative branch,’ and is therefore exempt from rules governing either. Cheney is refusing to observe an executive order on the handling of national security secrets, and he proposed to abolish a federal office that insisted on auditing his compliance.” Have you ever seen a better description of a total dictatorship?

If the evidence wasn’t there before, it sure as hell is now! Cheney is absolutely guilty as charged, and Congress now has the evidence.
Congressman Kucinich hit the nail perfectly on the head, and the time for Congress to nail the Cheney-Bush regime is long overdue. Nothing more needs to be written or said about the Cheney-Bush regime; it’s now all been said. And in conjunction with the continuously mounting scientific evidence proving the 9/11 terrorist acts as being inside jobs, we also know of Cheney’s modus operandi and his commitment to history instead of his required dedication to America and its people. Has there ever been a more immoral character than Cheney capable of the expression “the public be damned?”

As Bruce Fein wrote after reading the Post series, “Cheney must be impeached!” Fein documents the long list of criminal activities the Bush administration, now proven to be under the total control of Cheney, has perpetrated against the American people and the entire human race for which the administration, the Congress, AND the American people must now all be held accountable for in the eyes of our Creator. How many letters have you sent to your congressional representatives and senators? How many discussion groups or activist groups have you joined or participated in?

Should you come up with a negative response, then YOU are guilty as well! Anyone who remains silent witnessing these egregious crimes and the evil of merely one “human” being should consider themselves an accessory, before, during and after the fact. It is time to impeach, sentence and punish these most dangerous and evil criminals!

Dick Cheney 94 -Invading Baghdad would create Quagmire

My Cheney would you like some ketchup with your foot? and I quote from the horse himself “..how more… many additional dead Americans is Sadam worth? and our judgement was not many and I think we got it right.”

It’s not the first time that citizen “investigative journalists” have uncovered some embarrassing, or telling, nugget from the past that apparently remained buried for years. But it has happened again with the posting of a now wildly popular video on YouTube that shows Dick Cheney explaining in 1994 that trying to take over Iraq would be a “bad idea” and lead to a “quagmire.”
