BBC To Apologize For 9/11 Truth Hit Piece?

The BBC could be forced to apologize and admit mass public deception for airing a documentary on the 9/11 truth movement that was clearly riddled with errors, lies and bias, as the scandal-hit corporation desperately squirms to avoid a potential court case brought by a British scientist.

John A. Blacker, a qualified physicist & mechanical engineer and a member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice, is currently engaged in a pre-action protocol with the BBC in an attempt to settle out of court and get an apology from the broadcaster as well as a guarantee that the program will never be shown on television again.

In a letter to the BBC, Blacker cites a catalogue of errors, distortions and outright lies that were contained in the program, arguing that the documentary is an insult to those that lost their lives on 9/11.

Major American News Media: Fair and Balanced?

I think Brian Hamby got it right here. The corrupted media. Was it ever different? I wonder if we could go back in time, and find any major news outlet, unbiased?

Novelist Jeffrey Archer in his work The Fourth Estate made this observation:

“In May 1789, Louis XVI summoned to Versailles a full meeting of the ‘Estate General’. The First Estate consisted of three hundred clergy. The Second Estate, three hundred nobles. The Third Estate, six hundred commoners. Some years later, after the French Revolution, Edmund Burke, looking up at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, said, ‘Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all.”

(From Wikipedia)

Archer recognized the importance of the media to a functional government. It is what separates free societies from all others. It is very important that we do not always just accept at face value the news media, whether or not we think the media has an agenda to support or not. If we look at our own news media we can see that there is much to be desired and this demands we call into question their motives.

What should we expect of the news media? They should report the news. They should also be willing to ask important questions of those in key positions and be willing to help hold them accountable.

Post 9/11 we heard Bush’s war cries by reason of Hussein’s ‘weapons of mass destruction and the alleged Hussein connection with 9/11. If Wolf Blitzer and company had asked the questions that are only being asked now in hindsight, might the last few years appear much differently? Unfortunately this is not what happened and people like filmmaker Michael Moore were blackballed for their efforts to ask the questions that mainstream media again refused to ask but are slowly starting to ask now.

True in-depth news coverage would have been to ask those questions then. The questions were not asked then, so the logical next step would consider is why those questions were not asked. Whether one senses foul play or not, it does stand to reason that the questions need to be asked, and they need to be asked over and over again until we have satisfactory answers.
