A Bright Yellow Orb – Oshawa, Ontario (Lake Ontario)

Date: October 8, 2007
Time: ~ 7:30 p.m.

Description: The night of October 8, 2007, me and my little brother were fishing down at Lake Ontario South Oshawa. As we began walking home it was about 730 and it was just getting dark. There was a single cloud over the lake. It then began to give off a kind of orange glow. About 30 minutes later we were crossing over the 401 when I noticed a bright yellow orb directly above us. When I pointed it out to my brother, we watched it as it faded away within seconds. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. A few minutes after that we witnessed a single orb pass by no flashing lights or anything. It then turned on a dime and it began to go the other way. I hope to witness many more.

5 Dim Lights In A Delta Or V Shape, Kanata, Ontario, Canada

Date: September 29, 2007
Time: Around 9:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Kanata, ON
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 7
Shape of objects: Small points of light, very dim.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was looking up at the sky last night, just looking at the stars and had just seen a small shooting star to the north. I looked straight up above my house and then after about 10 seconds, I saw 5 dim lights in a delta or “V” shape – almost like a flying wing shape in pattern – moving northeast to southwest in a straight line. I thought at first of a plane, but with the shape and distance of the lights it would have been a very low flying plane, and there was absolutely no sound. While I watched it, wondering what it was, I saw two more lights off to the left (south) of it, also moving in a straight line, side-by-side, angling slightly towards the first object. As I watched them, one of the lights to the left (the one closest) seemed to move closer to the V shaped lights very quickly (too quickly for conventional aircraft in my opinion) and then the other one also approached at a very high rate of speed. The two sets of lights seemed to fly beside each other for a moment, then the two extra lights swung in behind and joined the V formation just before the lights became too dim to and moved out of my line of sight.

If I hadn’t been looking in that exact spot at that exact time, I would never have seen them, the lights were so dim, like dim background stars. The fact that what I saw was silent, and the fact that the extra lights moved so quickly towards the other object, ruled out my initial thought of a large plane and fighter escort – plus there were no blinking running lights as a commuter or military jet would likely have (I assume that military jets have these lights over friendly territory?). A friend of mine suggested it might be a CP-140 Aurora, though nothing I have found on this aircraft suggests it would be in Ontario, or that it would fly completely silent as what I saw did. Also, looking at the shape of the wings on a CP-140, it is more of a reverse angle wing, and only slight at that. What I saw had more of the wing shape of a B2 bomber, but with a more obtuse angle.

I can usually manage to explain things I see at night, but this was something else entirely. I’ve never seen anything like it, and no explanation so far has satisfied all of the things I have seen.

Thanks for hosting this site and the information you share. It’s very interesting and informative!

Cheers!

UFO Causes Witnesses Hair To React On Her Arm – Peterborough, Ontario

Date: September 19, 2007 Time: Approx: 3:00 a.m.

Approach Direction: In the east. Departure Direction: Towards the west. Witness Direction: The east.

Description: I was woke up by a sound and light. I went to check it out and that’s when I saw the light or object. It felt like an electric current mild causing the hair on my arms to react. I called my daughter to witness this.

Color/Shape: Not like a solid shape. It was flashing red and blue, but mostly white and very bright like an energy ball or lighting.

Height & Speed: Not sure, as it was just hovering but it left quickly no noise just headed west but then it was just gone.

TV/Radio/Press: Not sure, as I did not report it.

Additional Information by HBCC UFO Research.

Hello Brian

Below I added the information requested and attempted to draw what we saw though it is not the greatest. Just to give some back ground info. My parents and I viewed UFOs many years ago and (name removed) used to visit my family. I have not had any experience with UFO sightings since that time and it’s been over 39 years until recently. Any insight or information that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I have recently thought of applying under the Freedom of Information act since the recent sightings though I am not sure if it would be useful. Is there a local contact person who is involved with UFO sightings? Thanks.

A couple question for you Cindy if you would be kind enough to answer for us.

Q. – What was the date of the sighting. The only thing given was the time, which was approx: 3:00 a.m. Very important to have the date.

A. – It was on Wednesday September 19 2007 and ongoing now for the last few days at the same time. It woke my daughter and I up. We had some guests on the weekend and the one person was woke up around the same time we woke this was on the Friday Sept 21 2007.

Q. – Roughly how close was the object to your location, or away from you at the time of the sighting ?

A. – Perhaps less than a mile? Just across the river at first but came closer to our house.

Q. – How long were you able to see this for ?

A. – I think that we viewed it for about 15- 20 minutes.

Q. – Can you please tell me where the colored light was emanating from on this object, or was the colored light moving throughout it ?

A. – The colors blue and red are part of this object that appeared to be round like a lightening ball at least that’s how best I can describe it.

Q. – Roughly, what would you estimate the altitude of the object was when you were observing it ?

A. – Tree top level.

Q. – What were the weather conditions at the time of the event ?

A. – It was fairly clear but some light pollution.

Q. – When the object left, did it leave a trail or some type of tail behind as it moved ?

A. – Nothing.

Q. – I am not sure how old your daughter is Cindy, why I ask is would it be possible for her to also send in a report ? Just trying to get as much detail as possible.

A. – She is 15 and I will ask if she will write one up.

A White Or Silver Sphere – Etobicoke, Ontario

Date: September 8, 2007
Time: Approx: 4:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Etobicoke, ON.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Sphere.

Full Description of event/sighting: The photo was taken on Saturday, September 8th, at around 4:00pm, my wife and I had just sat down on a bench beside a parking lot in a shopping mall, when my eye caught a glint of a white or silver sphere moving from roughly north to south, in Etobicoke, (Toronto) ON, heading towards Lake Ontario.

When I had first spotted the object it was at a relatively low altitude, 1000 feet, perhaps 1km away from me, moving at a speed of perhaps 100km/h. It left no trail, and made no sound. My wife and I observed it for approx. 4 minutes in total. As it continued southward it slowly gained in altitude. I took several pictures with my cell phone that did not turn out, but my wife managed to take two photos that did turn out.

In the photos can be seen a bright sphere. It also seems to be casting a shadow on the clouds. The sun was roughly at out back at this time, we were facing east or south east while watching this object that eventually went out of view. I really regret not having our big camera with us that day.

Ontario is the new hotspot for UFO sightings: investigator

On track for ‘record-breaking year’

William Lin, The Ottawa Citizen
Published: Sunday, September 16, 2007

On Aug. 4, 1977, Paul Shishis was just a regular teenager working at a Scarborough grocery store.

But, it was no ordinary evening shift. He remembers that day well.

That Thursday night, he said, out in an adjacent open field, the 18-year-old saw what most people encounter only in science-fiction movies: a pear-shaped unidentified flying object with rotating multi-coloured lights in the night sky.

“I was dumbstruck with what I was witnessing,” Mr. Shishis said, now 48 and living in Oshawa.

Mr. Shishis’ experience is recorded alongside thousands of Canadian sightings, and the recent recounting of his story comes at a time when many continue to pose the elusive age-old question: Are we alone in the universe? This year marks the 60th anniversary of the crash landing in Roswell, New Mexico, where some believe the U.S. military covered up evidence of an alien craft. And this weekend, Edmonton’s TELUS World of Science, a respected museum complex, hosted a two-day UFO conference exploring the possibility of intelligent alien life.

For some, the possibility of alien beings visiting Earth is hard to swallow, the stuff of science fiction along the lines of the X-Files and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

But one independent Canadian UFO investigator said mysterious sightings in Ontario appear to be on the rise, with this year potentially seeing record numbers.

Brian Vike, who runs HBCC UFO Research from Houston, B.C, records Canadian incidents with the help of a British website.

They reported about 150 Ontario sightings so far this year up to the end of August out of a rough total of 300 in Canada.

Compare that with 188 Ontario sightings in all of 2006, according to another count that also includes Mr. Vike’s numbers, the Canadian UFO Survey, and the results could be surprising, he said.

“You’re going to have a record-breaking year, no doubt about it,” he said.

The Canadian UFO Survey is tabled by leading UFOlogists Chris Rutkowski, who spoke at the Edmonton conference, and Geoff Dittman, perhaps providing the clearest snapshot of Canadian sightings.

B.C. used to be the UFO magnet of Canada. According to last year’s survey, B.C. beat Ontario in sightings despite having a smaller population.

In 2002, B.C. logged 176 sightings. Ontario had 128. And the next year, it was even more lopsided: 304 to 150.

But, so far his year, up to the end of August, B.C. only has half of Ontario’s numbers, at 81 sightings, according to Mr. Vike.

Mr. Vike said he’s at a loss to explain it. He said several sightings were spotted near the Pickering nuclear plant.

“Is it something that’s attracting them? Is it something like the great bodies of water that you have?” After all, Mr. Shishis said he saw the UFO hover over what he believed to be Pickering that August night.

Ottawa is tied in eighth place in the number of municipal sightings with Edmonton and Burnaby, 12, according to the 2006 survey.

The No. 1 municipality attracting UFOs? Maidstone, Sask.

Whatever the reason for higher Ontario numbers, many experts say that Canada lacks a centralized database for sightings.

That means no accurate count exists.

“We really need to have a better way for people to report and making people aware of the proper channel of reporting these things. It would be great if there was a centralized thing,” said Frank Florian, director of space sciences at the TELUS World of Science.

“A lot of people who report these things don’t want to be labelled as quacks and things like that. They just want a question answered. Sometimes if you bring up the word ‘UFO,’ most people just kind of laugh or scoff at it,” he said.

And some don’t know where to turn to or are too embarrassed to say they saw a UFO.

“Most sightings don’t get reported. Its very hard to get a handle of what’s going on, because we don’t hear about most of the cases,” said Stanton Friedman, a former nuclear physicist who was the original civilian investigator for the Roswell incident.

Mr. Friedman, 73, at first blush doesn’t seem like a man who believes in UFOs. In fact, he’s never even seen one.

“I’ve never seen Tokyo. Do I have to see it to believe it’s there?” he asked rhetorically.

Mr. Friedman once worked as a nuclear physicist for engineering giants like General Electric, General Motors and McDonnell Douglas. He now calls New Brunswick home.

“I’m convinced the evidence is overwhelming that planet Earth is being visited by intelligently controlled extra-terrestrial spacecraft,” said Mr. Friedman, who was a guest speaker at the Edmonton conference. “We have sightings by scientist and by astronomers. There’s a tremendous amount of evidence out there.” Sometimes, the UFOs can be explained as the International Space Station, planes, even stars, Mr. Vike said.

“Let me tell you, we get hoaxes, lots of them. But you try to sort it out the best you can,” he said.

As for the Roswell incident, which he calls “cosmic Watergate,” Mr. Friedman believes the U.S. military did recover a flying saucer.

Asked if the truth about Roswell would someday be revealed, he said “if some major newsgroup would spend as much effort blowing the lid of the cosmic Watergate as the Washington Post did on the political Watergate, sure.”

Ball Of Light Makes 90 Degree Turn – Campbell River – British Columbia

Date: September 3, 2007
Time: 10:00 p.m.

Approach Direction: From the South.
Departure Direction: To the East.
Witness Direction: East.

Color/Shape: Had the appearance of a small ball of light, very dim since it was difficult to make out among the night sky except for the movement.

Height & Speed: Unknown, although we feel it was at a high altitude, over 30,000 feet.

Description: Sitting at the fishing pier in Campbell River facing west we noticed an object that appeared to be a shooting star. The object was traveling in a northerly direction when it might a tight 90 degree turn to the west and traveled over us. It then made a U shaped turn, traveling at about half the speed of when it was first seen, and continued east out of sight. I’ve never seen anything like it, at first thinking that it was a shooting star, then after it turned once possibly a satellite, then after the U-turn knew it was something else.

UFO in Harlow?

STANSTED Airport bound planes and birds are commonly seen in the skies above Harlow, but only 11 days ago there was a report of a UFO spotted above the town.

The sighting appeared on a Canadian website, which is run by independent UFO investigator Brian Vike.

The person who posted the sighting had been sitting outdoors at 12.30am with friends when they saw a mysterious grey object move across the night sky.

“It looked greyish in colour and was not moving very quickly,” they said. “It was probably a few hundred feet high, H shaped, completely silent and no lights to be seen.”

They go on to say that the object was seen above the Princess Alexandra Hospital for about five seconds before it moved behind trees towards the east.

“I am gob smacked at what I saw, in my 50 years I have never seen anything like it, mind boggling.”

There have been several sightings of so-called UFOs in the West Essex area, particularly in Loughton.

The earliest sighting of a UFO in the UK, as recorded on the UFO Info website, was in the ’60s in Harlow. The author’s name is not given, but the details describe how a nine-year-old boy was leaving his friend’s house one evening when he saw “a ball of yellow, pearly orange”.

“Holding my fist up now, it was easily bigger than my fist by about 10 per cent. This thing was close and I feel sure it knew I was there. It had two round dark patches, one each to the left and right lower half,” he said.

“The funny thing is I don’t remember much at all of the after events, except running home very fast after the ball ‘switched off’.”

The Ministry of Defence has released a report claiming that most sightings are “attributable to physical, electrical and magnetic phenomena in the atmosphere”, but enthusiasts and experts are not convinced.

“Many people will try and convince you that UFOs are secret military black projects, but the problem with that conclusion is we’ve been told that since the 1950s,” one expert commented.

“If it were true, why haven’t we seen these 50-year-old UFO shaped black projects in regular use by now?”

Canadian UFO Sighting Reports – January – August 2007

Brian Vike

August 28, 2007

*HBCC UFO Research* and *UFOINFO* together have received 293 written UFO sighting reports from January 1, up until August 27, 2007 and I am sure the total number will climb as we still have four months left in 2007. Not included in the total number of reports is approximately 26 telephone interviews which we done and the reports have not been written up as of yet, these would include sightings from British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta.

Ontario still leads the Canadian provinces with a whopping 140 reported sightings, followed by British Columbia with 81 cases.

Below is a break down on reports received by HBCC UFO Research and UFOINO from January 1, 2007 to August 27, 2007.

Ontario – 140

British Columbia – 81

Alberta – 27

Nova Scotia – 10

Quebec – 10

Manitoba – 10

Saskatchewan – 7

New Brunswick – 5

Newfoundland – 2

Yukon – 1

Total number of Canadian reported sightings so far for 2007 is 293 cases. Plus another 26 cases which have not been written up as of yet.

The sightings range from a spectacular meteor event over Ontario back in March of 2007, followed by a wave of unknown craft/objects. Stars and the planet Venus were another cause for some of the reports, the IS (International Space Station) and Space Shuttle played a roll as well. Also aircraft were reported as being a UFOs. To round things off, there were a few UFO sightings that did turn out to be balloons, but although many sighting were certainly explainable, there were some really amazing cases in which no answers could be found, and I am still looking for a rational explanation for some events.

One of the most amazing UFO events took place over the Kelowna, British Columbia region on July 2, 2007 where numerous eyewitness in different parts of Kelowna saw a cylinder shaped craft, with what looked like fins on it, and on fire, ripped down through the sky and finally hitting the water on Okanagan Lake, British Columbia. The sound was incredibly loud and like a deep bass “womp, womp, womp” sound as it came down. The same object then reappeared from where it hit the lake, rose up and then sat and hovered in the sky. Meanwhile a cone or “possible” triangular shaped craft was stationary a short distance away from the cylinder shaped craft. What took place next dumbfounded all of the people who had watched the event unfold, the two objects started reacting to one another, and the best description given from the witnesses was like looking at tracer fire from automatic weapons, or in other words it was like the two UFOs were shooting at one another. After a short time of exchanging what looked like the two craft were firing on one another, a loud bang was heard and the cone shaped craft was nowhere to be seen. The torpedo shaped object was still hovering in the sky. It started moving from side to side and then a loud sonic boom and it was now gone. Needless to say, some witnesses screamed loudly or when watching had their jaw almost hit the ground from watching such a unusual event unfold in front of their eyes.

A couple of other interesting things happened not long after this UFO battle. A NATO AWAC aircraft did a couple of fly-bys over the Kelowna airport, when Airport Operations Manager James Hall was contacted, he confirmed that the aircraft that flew over the Kelowna airport was indeed a NATO aircraft, a modified Boeing 707 AWAC. Mr. Hall also said that they were not privy to their (military) operations or plans. Numerous unknown helicopters were seen in and around the area, more than the normal helicopter traffic one would see in the area. Also CF-18 fighter jets were video taped leaving the Kelowna airport, but this certainly may or may not have anything to do with the UFO battle over Okanagan Lake. I guess we just keep an open mind to the chain of events and hope for a break in the case.

One of the witnesses did a nice graphic on their computer to illustrate what the UFO event looked like, this can be viewed at: *Kelowna UFO Battle Illustration*

Other amazing cases came in from Ontario and other provinces as well. I would also like to note, the 293 reported sightings came into just *HBCC UFO Research* and *UFOINFO*. There are many other UFO organizations across Canada and in the United States that are receiving Canadian UFO cases. So the total will be much greater for each of the Canadian provinces.

I couldn’t even guess how many UFO reports were reported from the United States and other areas of the world. Most sightings do come into us from the United States and we are very happy to receive them, actually some of the best cases are coming from the U.S. and go back numerous years.

Like I always tell folks, no matter when the UFO event took place, please send in your report, either to HBCC UFO Research or UFOINFO as we are here to help where we can, and are extremely interested in what the witness has to say. I also keep harping on an important part of this UFO topic, and that is that the witness who is reporting to us, is that their private/personal information is completely confidential.

Well in the next four months we shall see what other interesting cases come into us. Don’t forget to file your sightings.

A Large Orange Globe Above The Lake, Low, Quebec, Gatineau River

Date: July 23, 2007 Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: At cottage, Gatineau River, Low Quebec.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round.

Full Description of event/sighting: A friend and I went out on the deck of my sister’s cottage to look across the bay to see if we could see my daughter and son-in-law at a friend’s bonfire across the bay. It was pitch dark as there are very few cottages around as access to the river is limited. The river along there is not straight, as it was flooded over 100 years previously to facilitate logging. There are lagoons, bays, islands and many curves. In a couple of miles of river between the dam at Low and Lac Ste Marie, there are only a few cottages, mostly in 2 small bays, and near Low along one side of the river only. The other side being fairly inaccessible. It was a beautiful night, with the water appearing as a midnight blue in contrast to the almost black of the large tree covered hills across the way; the sky was another shade of dark with what appeared to be thousands of stars up in the sky. There was a bonfire across the bay, but other than a small light on in our cottage, it was dark everywhere.

I was enjoying the view of the hills at night, so I glanced away from across the bay, to view the river to my right. Then I saw it. It was not as high up as the stars, but looked to be at about the height of the hills or maybe higher. It was the most beautiful orange globe of light, almost like a ball of fire, but it was close enough that I got a good look at it. It seemed almost like those pictures taken inside volcanoes, light moving around inside the globe like different shades of orange, yellow and a hint of blue, almost twisting inside like intestines and the strangest thing was that as bright as it was. It cast no glow outside its’ sphere or onto the water. It was almost like looking at a snow-globe of fire just sitting there above the water, it was also quite large, about the size of a hot-air balloon. I was just awe-struck and thought to myself, take a good look at this, this is just incredible, you’ll want to remember this. It stood still for about 2 or 3 seconds and I was too numb to speak.

I was shocked when it suddenly moved, or more like darted at super speed to form what was like the first stroke of a W, to just about 10 feet above the water, pausing for only a split second, darted way up again, forming the second stroke of a perfect W, darting back down again as per the third stroke of a W , but this time when 3/4 way down, did a split-second pause and darted left at a downward angle, then right at a downward angle, then darted as per the last stroke of a W, but at a little more of a wide angle, and darted out of view. It happened so fast that by the time I yelled at my friend to look, she only saw it for a moment as it paused for a split second during one of its movements, but instead of continuing to look at it she turned back to me and shouted something like What on earth was that, a UFO? which surprised me as she is such a down to earth lady, brought up on a farm, and even she knew this was not something normal. It took me a while to really talk about it as people just wouldn’t understand what I was talking about, but I saw it and it was definitely not of this world.

UFO was larger and faster than a plane, witness claims

Aug 10 2007

A UFO was hovering near a Shirley garden centre on Sunday, it has been claimed.

In what could be a case for X-Files detectives Mulder and Scully, the round white object was said to be in the sky at about midday.

The sighting was reported to HBCC, a company that tracks unidentified flying objects.

The witness’ full description of the event, in Shirley Road, Croydon, read: “At first I thought it was a plane or helicopter. However, the more I looked at it, the more I realised that there were no wings or any features.

“It was just a plain white oval object. The speed at which it was travelling told me that it wasn’t a balloon either.

A Metallic Craft – Red Deer, Alberta

Date: July 7, 2007
Time: Between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.

Approach Direction: Due South.
Departure Direction: Unknown, vanished.
Witness Direction: East.

Description: I was driving southbound on 40th Ave, from 55th, St, at the top of Michener Hill. Something caught my eye toward the east. I noticed an object which I thought was an aircraft moving slowly south however, this object seemed odd as I could not make out any wings. It seemed to be somewhat pointed at the front and back like the nose of a fighter jet. It was completely metallic like an unpainted aircraft. There was a very bright light coming from the middle top of the object as I have indicated in my drawing. This bright light could have also been a reflection of the sun from the west as the sun was low in the sky at the time. I looked at the object several times as I was driving over a period of about 10 to 15 seconds. The last time I looked, it had completely vanished.

There were a few trees that obstructed my view of this object a couple times as I drove and thought maybe it changed direction and I didn’t notice it. 40th Ave, is parallel to the direction this object was moving. I looked at this thing one time, I looked again and it was gone. I did not hear any aircraft sounds propeller or jet. I continued south on 40th Ave, and eventually turned east hoping to see this thing again but did not. I went home puzzled and thought to myself, maybe I have seen too many videos of UFOs or I’m tired and it was just an aircraft. I mentioned this thing to my step son when I got home and he gave me the impression that I am seeing things in my head. At any rate, I saw something which I am very confused about.

Color/Shape: Metallic, I could see a completely flat bottom however the angle of the lines of this object was toward this light giving a possible dome shape. It almost looked like an aircraft fuselage with tapered/pointed ends, fat in the middle and thinner at the edges.

Height & Speed: Approx, 500 feet high moving at around 50 to 60 kph. moving south from the north.

TV/Radio/Press: Don’t know.

(Source: http://www.hbccufo.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2763)

I found this sighting of interest. The object I saw 3 times in the last month above Ottawa was very similar and had similar behavior. Great report!

Time: 11:45 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Lake Simcoe, Ontario.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Bright starlike.

Full Description of event/sighting: It approached from northwest heading south east and flew at high speed in a steady course 45 degrees up from the horizon, just below the first star in the handle of the big dipper constellation in the background sky. There were no flashing lights as on an airliner etc. and no sound audible. I observed object flying straight for 5 seconds. It made very tight up-turn at full speed, flying back (northwest) parallel of original course back about half way.

The object performed sudden and even faster 90 degree turn to the west. Accelerated and in a streak and disappeared in the sky. The sky over the lake that night was absolutely cloud free, of light pollution from surrounding town and 3+ magnitude (See Note Below) stars could easily been seen. The local geography offered a clear view from horizon west to horizon north without any obstruction to the skyline. Thank you.

Can anyone please let me know about other Lake Simcoe encounters.

Brightness/Magnitude

The brightness of a star (or anything else in the sky) is called its magnitude. You’ll encounter this term often.

The magnitude system began about 2,100 years ago when the Greek astronomer Hipparchus divided stars into brightness classes. He called the brightest ones “1st magnitude,” meaning simply “the biggest.” Those a little fainter he called “2nd magnitude,” meaning second biggest, and so on down to the faintest ones he could see: “6th magnitude”.

With the invention of the telescope, observers could see even fainter stars. Thus 7th, 8th, and 9th magnitudes were added. Today binoculars will show stars as faint as 8th or 9th magnitude, and an amateur’s 6-inch telescope will go to 12th or 13th. The Hubble Space Telescope has seen to about 30th magnitude — which is nearly 10 billion times fainter than the faintest stars visible to the unaided eye.

On the other end of the scale, it turns out that some of Hipparchus’s “1st-magnitude” stars are a lot brighter than others. To accommodate them, the scale now extends into negative numbers. Vega is zero (0) magnitude, and Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, is magnitude –1.4. Venus is even brighter, usually magnitude –4. The full Moon shines at magnitude –13, and the Sun, magnitude –27.

An Unknown Dark Object – Toronto, Ontario

Date: July 21, 2007
Time: Approx: 9:15 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Toronto Ontario.
Number of witnesses: 3 + (?)
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Very difficult to describe.

HBCC UFO Research Note: Seeing there were alot of people in the immediate area, and since the sighting took place over downtown Toronto, there must have been others who saw this event take place. So if anyone else did observe this unusual object would you please file a report to HBCC UFO Research.

Full Description of event/sighting: On Saturday July 21 at approximately 9:15 pm (I never thought to check my watch at the time though), I saw an object in the sky in the middle of the city of Toronto.

I was on a busy roof-top patio full of people. I was looking at a construction crane which was to the north of where I was and noticed something in the sky. Initially I thought it was nothing more than a black garbage bag blowing around. It then occurred to me that it was not windy outside at all (it was a beautiful calm, clear evening) and that the object was quite high up (although I could not see the ground and the object at the same time). When I realized that there was something odd about what I was seeing, I pointed it out to the person I was with, it turns out they too had been watching it in an attempt to determine what it was. We both agreed that the object was abnormal and quickly tried to get the attention of several other people who were standing/talking with us. Few took any note, but there were at least three of us that watched the object move through the sky.

The object moved from north to south (in the direction of lake Ontario). The object was moving very smoothly, it did not change direction, it was very consistent and did not appear to change its elevation. The size is extremely hard to determine since there was nothing to compare it to (it passed behind a building, but I do not recall it passing in front of anything). I also could not see the ground from where I was so I could not determine its elevation or make a reasonable guess as to its size or distance from me. From where I was the object was quite small (smaller than the moon for example). The object was completely black, it had no lights on it and I was unable to even tell what material it may have been.

The shape of the object is surprisingly hard for me to explain. It was definitely not a plane as it had no wings, nor was it a helicopter. I would not call it a saucer because it was not completely round, nor was it flat, but it did look like it had something protruding from the top. My surroundings were noisy, so I cannot determine whether the object made any noise but when helicopters move through the city they make a lot of noise and there was nothing noticeable coming from the object. It moved at a good pace, approximately the speed of a plane, maybe a bit faster. We followed it until a high rise office building blocked it from our view. In total the sighting time felt like a long time but was probably no more than 2-3 minutes. Again, the object was definitely not a plane or a helicopter, it was around dusk and the object had no lights on it at all.

This sighting occurred in the middle of the city of Toronto (north of Bloor St. near Bay St.) on a beautiful Saturday night, the streets were busy, we could not have been the only people to see it could we?

Meath Hill had a crop circle; Area residents recall strange sight

David Croft believes something unusual happened one night on top of Meath Hill.

He’s just not sure if it was an unidentified flying object that burned a crop circle into a farmer’s field or something else.

“There were a lot of questions about it,” says the retired AECL employee reflecting on that day back in the mid-1970′s when he stopped at the side of Highway 17 to see the odd phenomenon. “I never saw anything like that before in my lifetime.”

Stepping out of his 1972 Plymouth Fury, he walked over and saw a 14-foot scorched ring in the near distance. There were three men digging at the site. They wouldn’t tell Mr. Croft what they were doing. The ground in the middle of the ring had been flattened. He noticed boulders resting to the sides of the circle.

With the 60th anniversary of an alleged 1947 UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico being observed this month, several area residents have found themselves recalling similarly strange happenings here.

“I said to myself ‘this must have been a small flying saucer’,” Mr. Croft says, looking at a black and white photo he took of the circle.

Pembroke resident Isabel Hudson may have been one of the few to see the thing that landed on Meath Hill.

Sitting on the front porch of her Cecilia Street home, she looked up into the night sky and saw a shimmering, reddish ball of light. The light gradually descended in a southwesterly direction.

“It was something coming down,” said Ms. Hudson, noting that the light vibrated unlike any aircraft she had ever seen before. “There were things going on that just didn’t look right.”

The morning after sighting the UFO, Ms. Hudson went down to the Meath Hill crop circle where a large crowd of sightseers had gathered. The area was cordoned off with mine tape. She recalls the farmer who owned the property saying “Somebody’s playing a dirty trick on me.”

Mr. Croft adds that at the time, a federal Agriculture Department official released a statement saying the circle was a result of a fungus growth that was destroying the field’s grass.

One theory to explain crop circles is that pranksters have used state-of-the-art equipment to create them. However, Mr. Croft believes the circle couldn’t have been fabricated, as he noticed the fence bordering the field was intact and there were no tie tracks leading to the site. Ms. Hudson has no doubt that a flying object caused the circle.

“I still think it was something that came down from the sky,” she said.

This wasn’t the first crop circle in the area. Three rings appeared in a farmer’s field in Pontiac County in 1969. The circles showed up after several people in Chapeau reported sightings of a UFO.

UFO sightings are on the rise this year in Ontario, according to HBCC UFO Research, a non-profit organization based in British Columbia that tracks UFO phenomena across Canada. The organization reports there have been 106 sightings in the province so far in 2007. People are claiming to have seen triangles, disks and formations of light. According to the organization’s website, the last sighting of a UFO in the Ottawa Valley was near Renfrew in April.

Beaver Dam – New Brunswick – Very Bright Flashes Of Light

Date: July 22, 2007
Time: 0300 hours.

Approach Direction: NE to SW and SW to NE.
Departure Direction: SW and NE.
Witness Direction: SW.

Description: Now this is really starting to get weird for me. I seem to be seeing more and more of these things. I had recently reported seeing one on the 17th of July in Cape Breton so of course I seem to be spending more time watching the skies now. I went to a backyard fire in my neighborhood last night and stayed quite late. At 0300h I stood on my porch, just looking up at the sky. At first I noticed what seemed to be a lot of satellites moving in the same direction one every minute or so and some going back in the same direction.

Then I started looking at the area of sky where they all seemed to be originating or heading to. It was then I saw several “power ups” as someone else refers to them. In a span of about 45 minutes I saw at least 6 lights appear from nowhere and become the brightest thing in the sky or as they were traveling become the brightest thing in the sky. These flare ups lasted no more than about 3 to 5 seconds and then after they went back to looking as though they were just satellites traveling across the night sky. On two occasions I saw very bright flashes of light that only lasted a fraction of a second but they were bright enough to catch my attention. All in all between objects which did and did not flare up I saw in total around 20 or so objects moving across the sky in that small area. WOW!

(Source: http://www.hbccufo.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2742)

Another great report similar to the things we see in the sky around Ottawa. And all these flashes cannot be explained by satellite, planes, shooting stars… Great report. Glad to see we have more and more of these getting reported from various sources and from people with various walk of life… Keep them coming!

Aylmer, Ontario – Cylinder And Black Dot Observed

Date: July 22, 1978 Time: 1:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Eastern sky driving towards Aylmer.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Cylindrical, and white, tiny black circle.

Full Description of event/sighting: We were driving admiring the white clouds in the blue sky, when an object caught my eye. It looked like a flat cloud, it was sitting totally still. I told my boyfriend to look, because it looked kind of weird. We were both staring at it when it just completely vanished, we both let out a big whoa, then right where it vanished was a tiny black dot that was moving around behind a cloud, at which time the dot disappeared and the cylinder reappeared. It vanished again, and that was it.

Ottawa, Ontario Aviation Parkway Bright Light Flys Off At Fast Rate Of Speed

Date: Various times. (February or early March 2007) – (Also sightings in 2006) Time: Usually between 10:00 pm and 2:00 am

Location of Sighting: Ottawa: Aviation Parkway between Sussex Dr and Montreal rd (near Orleans). Number of witnesses: 2-4 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Small softball like light.

Full Description of event/sighting: Me and a couple of my friends usually take the aviation parkway pretty much 7 days a week usually during the hours of 10pm and 2am. A few times we have noticed unusual things in the sky.

For starters I for one do believe in UFO’s and such, but my other friends were not, at first.

While driving down the parkway, on a semi cloudy night, we noticed what at first looked like a really bright star, but after a few moments of just standing still, the light suddenly took off in the right direction at an incredible amount of speed, my friend who was driving , could not believe the speed it went as he tried to keep up for a while going nearly 100 kmph, but after a while it just disappeared out of sight. This happened last summer at some point, mid June. Oddly enough, this first sighting happened almost directly above the aviation museum itself.

Since then, we have noticed other event similar to this one, in fact 3 other times since.

I’m glad I found this site to talk about this and to see if anyone else might have seen something similar.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian, sorry should have mentioned, I think one of them happened in late February this year (2007) or early March.

Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Renfrew, Ontario Bright Object Comes To A Complete Stop

I decided to post this sighting cause it was very similar to what happened to me, my wife and my 2 brothers while on a fishing trip near James Bay.

Posted: June 11, 2007

Date: June 9, 2007 Time: 10:15 p.m.

Location of Sighting: North. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 maybe more. Shape of objects: Bright solid white light.

Full Description of event/sighting: I spotted what I thought was a bright satellite directly overhead but it stopped. I then ran inside my house to tell my wife, “look quick a UFO” she ran outside with me but it was gone ( 20 sec.) I then looked north and there it was traveling west to east much farther way then when I first saw it. I almost acted like it was casually trying to act like a satellite, it then turned south and accelerated, it got very bright, brighter than Venus and changed direction again more south east then faded out in the north east sky. My girlfriend could still see where it was though , it was very dim and looking like it joined a star formation where it didn’t move again. The only reason I stopped watching it is I had to go to work. if the same star is there tonight its my white solid light UFO.

UFO Sightings Keep Rolling In From Ontario Canada

Brian Vike

Reports from Canada are coming in as usual, but in one province UFO sightings are way up for this time of the year. A massive 73 reported written sightings and a number of telephone interviews places the total for Ontario to a whopping 81 cases as of May 15, 2007 to come into HBCC UFO Research which is located in Houston, British Columbia and UFOINFO located in the United Kingdom.

A number of UFO reports came in during the months of January and February, but it was in March when a flurry of fireball sightings were reported, then an unexpected huge number of cases were received directly after the fireball/meteor event. Witnesses are still writing up, and sending in some amazing cases, such as the recent triangular UFO sighting which just took place in Oshawa, Ontario where multi colored lights were moving around it in all directions and if that wasn’t enough of an amazing event, in flew a “massive” triangular craft witnessed by three people who drew up an excellent diagram

Other UFO reports rolled in from Burlington, Toronto, Brockville, Whitby, St. Catharines, Brampton, Ottawa, Uxbridge, Bowmanville, Enterprise, Flesherton, Forest, Mississauga, Sarnia, Hamilton, Thornton, Wellesley, Ancaster, Jordon, Sudbury, Ajax, Bonfield, Newmarket, Grimsby, North Bay, London, Rice Lake, Kitchener, Orangeville, Belleville and Port Colborne and there are other areas as well.

Also many other UFO groups have received sighting reports out of Ontario as well. If one was to add all these into what HBCC UFO Research and UFOINFO has received so far, the total would be much greater. We are only in the middle of May and most UFO sightings are reported in the warmer months. There may be a record number coming out of the province before this year ends. We shall see.

Some of the objects that have been reported are lights, but lights doing some unusual maneuvers. Many triangle sightings, disk shaped craft along with silver round objects staying stationary and then shooting off at an incredible rate of speed. The list goes on!

As for the other provinces here in Canada, from what HBCC UFO Research and UFOINFO have received, it appears one heck of a lot slower than what is taking place in Ontario.

British Columbia sightings number 18, Nova Scotia – 2, Saskatchewan – 1, Quebec – 1, New Brunswick – 1, Alberta – 12, Manitoba 5 and New Foundland – 1.

The question I’m asking myself is why the large numbers of sightings in Ontario? Why has the Ontario media completely ignored what is happening in their own province? There seems to be more questions than answers as to what is happening in the skies over Ontario.

Something I have been so impressed with, and very grateful to many of these witnesses, is that they are willing to take the time with me on the telephone to either gather more details on the UFO experience, or are willing to speak openly with me for the radio show I host on UFOs.
What we would like to request is, if anyone in the province of Ontario has witnessed a UFO event, would you either contact me here at HBCC UFO Research or contact UFOINFO with a detailed report on what was seen.

The same goes for any other province here in Canada, please file your sighting reports. Also if you have experienced a sighting that goes back many years, these sighting reports are just as valuable to us, so please do get them in.

Thank you from Brian Vike – Director of HBCC UFO Research and Mr. John Hayes at UFOINFO.
