UFOs: We believe! Another Survey.

That’s the view of almost half the people surveyed in an exclusive Sun poll, with many more claiming to have seen a UFO or believing in them.

With record numbers of unexplained objects being spotted in the skies over Britain on Saturday night, a huge majority of us reckon alien life exists somewhere in the universe, even if it has yet to touch down on Earth.

Crop circles are commonly cited as evidence of alien visits.

But the discovery of life-supporting water in the form of ice on Mars is regarded as an even bigger sign alien life exists.

Another politician saw a UFO

Independent MLA Gerry Wood said he saw a strange object fly across the sky above Howard Springs early Wednesday morning.
“It was a dark grey object and it was flying parallel to the ground – it lit up white at the front for a short period, maybe one or two seconds, and then the light disappeared and the object melted with the sky,” he said.

Mr Wood, a self-confessed sceptic, said the object moved across the sky at a tremendous rate, but he didn’t believe it was a plane.

“There wasn’t a sound, not even a whisper,” he said.

Vatican scientist says belief in God and aliens is OK

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – The Vatican’s chief astronomer says there is no conflict between believing in God and in the possibility of “extraterrestrial brothers” perhaps more evolved than humans.
“In my opinion this possibility (of life on other planets) exists,” said Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, a 45-year-old Jesuit priest who is head of the Vatican Observatory and a scientific adviser to Pope Benedict.

“How can we exclude that life has developed elsewhere,” he told the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano in an interview in its Tuesday-Wednesday edition, explaining that the large number of galaxies with their own planets made this possible.

Asked if he was referring to beings similar to humans or even more evolved than humans, he said: “Certainly, in a universe this big you can’t exclude this hypothesis”.

In the interview headlined “The extraterrestrial is my brother,” he said he saw no conflict between belief in such beings and faith in God.

Total Solar Eclipse on August 1: Where, How to See It

Solar eclipses have been blamed in the past for war, famine, and the deaths of kings. But the upcoming total eclipse on August 1 will mostly be celebrated by excited sky-watchers—even if it won’t break any records.
The sun will be completely obscured for just under two and a half minutes, “a tad on the short side,” according to astrophysicist Fred Espenak, an eclipse expert based at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

A typical eclipse lasts for three minutes, Espenak said, and the longest possible is seven and a half minutes.

When it starts, this year’s full eclipse will be visible from a narrow arc spanning the Northern Hemisphere.

Its path will begin in Canada and continue northeast across Greenland and the Arctic, then southeast through central Russia, Mongolia, and China.

The Orion Project update on Pulsed Motor/Generator Developmen

TOP Research Update on
Pulsed Motor/Generator Development

By Bill Costantino June 6, 2008

Background

In April of this year, The Orion Project launched a research effort focused on Pulsed Motor / Generator (PMG) technology. We believe a PMG may ultimately be able to self-power and provide enough electrical power to cover all the requirements for an average home or small business. Our goal is to develop a working proof-of-concept prototype to undeniably demonstrate this possibility. We are presently working with a team of researchers who have studied and experimented with these devices for many years. They are now underway developing and testing a one-half scale PMG to prove the principle. Once this has been achieved, we will scale it up to determine if the proper power requirements can be met.

The two primary researchers bring years of expertise to this challenge. Their specific names and locations are being withheld in order to insure their privacy, safety, and security. Mr. Q brings considerable skill in electro-mechanical system design. Mr. P brings 30 years of electrical engineering experience in custom circuit design. The week of May 19-23, P traveled from his home to conduct the first round of development work with Q at his laboratory in the midwest. Four series of tests were conducted during this time, consuming over 100 man-hours of focused effort.

Prior to their joint work together, each inventor made the utmost preparations in advance. Q designed the electro-mechanical system from the very beginning to have all of its parts made to a certain standard so that many different configurations could quickly and efficiently be arranged. P likewise brought electronic components that were modular in nature to allow the same plug & play testing.

Test Series #1

The object of these initial tests was to simply get the control electronics successfully working with the electro-mechanical generator that Q already had built. After a few iterations of adjustment, they were able to get the motor spinning a few hundred RPM by tuning the electronics. Several other configurations of electronics and driver coils were tested. Overall, the initial Linderman style rotor (one without magnets) never achieved sufficient RPM to hold promise for any meaningful power generation.

Test Series #2

The next round of tests was to replace the Linderman style rotor with rotor containing magnets. Electronic controls were adjusted accordingly. This configuration was tested using single and multiple driver coils. While they were able to achieve rotation in all configurations, RPMs were still too low to be able to deliver meaningful power output. Motor speed was limited due to magnetic interference effects.

Test Series #3

To avoid this magnetic interference, the team switched to another ingenious arrangement in hopes of eliminating this back-drag. They were successful and soon achieved 1,500 RPM while using only a fraction of the full system capabilities – very encouraging! They systematically activated more of the system with corresponding refinement of the drive electronics.

Curious Anomaly

They soon optimized the above configuration to a nominal RPM in preparation to take some power measurements. Next, they disconnected the supply lead from the power controller, expecting the rotor to naturally coast to a stop, essentially un-plugged from its power source. Quite unexpectedly, however, the rotor began to accelerate rapidly – disconnected from the power supply lead! It was clear that an intense power surge was somehow generated within the system. In his 30 years experience, P had never seen this type of behavior and is currently at a loss to explain it. The surge was powerful enough to damage key components of the electrical controls, and thus testing came to a halt. While it is too early to make any definitive claims about the source of this power surge, the effect is of great interest and clearly warrants further investigation.

Series #4

After regrouping, the team attempted to duplicate the above effect using other types of electrical components. They encountered problems, however, and achieved inconsistent results in reproducing the acceleration phenomenon. They were, however, able to achieve a new high speed of almost 2500 RPM of the rotor – again encouraging progress. The motor is capable of much higher speeds once we are able to further refine the driver circuits.

Next Steps

“P” customizing electrical control circuits during the first round of PMG development work.

Already the team has agreed on the next experimental design. The singular focus is to recreate the anomalous event but with more precise observation, measurement, and stabilization. P is contacting the manufacturers of the electrical components in search of any known explanation for the anomalous behavior. The next scheduled week for testing is June 23-27.

North Pole ice may completely melt away this summer

For the first time in modern history, the North Pole may be iceless this summer. Scientists say it’s an even bet that sea ice in the region will completely disappear in the next few months, perhaps as soon as August.

Ice at the North Pole quickly and significantly melted away last year, and that may be causing further melting this summer. Scientists say the disappearance of long-term and thicker ice formed over the years has disappeared. Now, most of the ice that’s left is seasonal ice, which melts away much more quickly during warm weather.

“This year there is a lot of young ice. There’s always some, but this year there’s a lot,” Andy Mahoney, a researcher at the University of Colorado’s National Snow and Ice Data Center, told CTV.ca.

Satellite observations indicate the ice remaining at the poles is melting faster than last year’s rate, which was already a record year for Arctic ice loss. Scientists say whether or not the ice melts completely, this year’s northern melt is yet another example of the impact that global warming is having on the planet’s environment.

“There were some people who were saying last year was a rogue year. If the same thing happens again a lot more people are going to be persuaded about the consequences of global warming,” Mahoney said.

“A lot of people think it’s a very small change in temperature. This shows that the change in sea ice is quite a dramatic consequence.”

As the ice melts, interest in the region is intensifying. Canada and other nations that border the Arctic — including Russia and the U.S. — are scrambling to lay claims to vast parts of the area, which may someday allow new resource development and shipping lanes.

“If the North Pole melts, then you don’t have to worry about the Northwest Passage. It will still be significant, but going on top of the globe would be politically easier,” Mahoney said.

A UN panel is supposed to decide on control of the Arctic by 2020. Last year, Canada’s Conservative government announced plans to acquire up to eight Arctic patrol ships and to build an army base in Resolute Bay and a naval station in Nanisivik.

Under the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, Arctic countries have 10 years after ratification to prove their claims under the largely uncharted polar ice pack. All countries with claims to the Arctic have ratified the treaty, with the exception of the United States.

Renaissance Charger Blog Update

More testing being conducted on the Renaissance charger Blog. I am currently trying to charge a Li-ion battery, but it has 3 terminals and it seems that the charger doesn’t know how to handle that. Still trying to figure this out. If any of you knows how these batteries work, leave me a comment here or on http://renaissance-charger.blogspot.com
I would like to remind you that Energenx claims to be using John Bedini’s technology, to radiantly charge batteries. The series of test made on my other blog will try to prove this.

Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver

The campaign to put a measure on the November ballot to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver is being put on hold.
“We’re targeting the 2009 ballot,” said Jeff Peckman, 54, who’s been backing the initiative.
He said once the signatures have been gathered, an intensive public education campaign on the subject will be launched.
“We want to go deeply into this topic,” he said.
Peckman made his comments as part of his introduction of Steven M. Greer, the founder of The Disclosure Project, who spoke at the Tivoli Student Union on Wednesday night.
More than 400 people packed into the Turnhalle room to hear Greer talk about his efforts to collect testimony and documents from government and military officials about their knowledge and experience with UFOs and alien technology.
“Everyone wants to know, but no one wants to do something about it,” Greer said.
Greer also was asking for public support for the Orion Project, in which a team of scientists and engineers will develop a device that will run on free, limitless, clean energy from space – something similar to what extraterrestrials use to power their spacecrafts, he said.
He said such a device would completely eliminate the need for fossil fuels, coal and nuclear power plants for the world’s energy needs.
“We can do it, not in our lifetime but in the next couple of years,” he said.
Greer also called for contact with extraterrestrials, whom he said are peaceful, and praised Peckman’s effort to have a commission formed to deal with them.
Several of the people who attended the talk have followed Greer’s work for years.
Candice Powers, 55, of Boulder, said she had heard nothing new at the talk but was surprised that Greer was talking more about the push to find alternative energy sources.
“I thought he was going to do a lot more with encounters with ETs,” she said.

Ben Rich – ‘We Can Travel amongst the star already"

Upon graduation with a master’s degree in thermodynamics from UCLA, Ben Rich was hired by Lockheed. In December 1954, Rich was sent to the secret research and development Skunk Works section run by Lockheed. Later was program manager for the SR-71 Blackbird propulsion system. The idea to paint the high-speed aircraft’s skin black, to help dissipate the tremendous frictional heat, was Rich’s. He championed the early prototypes of stealth technology and led the development of the F-117 stealth fighter.
